  • I got the New Teatament from my Dad for Christmas in 2008 and I love it I plan on getting the Old Testament later this year I look forward to litsening to it when I get it

  • This will change your life and make you cry. It is the coolest thing ever. The stoning of stephen is soooo intense, and the gentile woman who begs Jesus to heal her daughter, agh, I was crying. This thing is so totally awesome, it will change the way you look at the bible.

  • I bought this online. Im a Catholic Christian living is a Muslim country with strict implementation of Sharia law, where bringing/owning a Bible islike signing a death warrant. Now, its like having a Bible everywhere I am. The mutaweens do not bother at all, they thought Im just listening to my ipod.

I highly recommend this. You will not regret it.

  • I bought the instant download 2 nights ago. I'm only about halfway through downloading the entire Bible. It's all .zip files that I have to then extract. I thought it would be one big file that I could just download. Probably stupid of me. It was $59 for this instant download. I listened to 3 chapters of Luke, since that is where I am currently reading. I personally find this fascinating. I love this. If you love the Bible, this is fabulous. I think it's a treasure, truly

  • Its the best way to read the bible. Listen and follow along with your bible. It really brings the living word to life.

  • I wish people could make comments concerning this Word of Promise audio bible , & discuss their experiences with it, instead of just arguing about religion & beliefs.

  • @rockxhero Good idea. Can you tell me your opinion of it? I'm wondering about getting it for my mother as a random present. i just wonder whether having so many celebrity voices would take focus off the text and instead play a "whos that voice" kind of game.

  • @sumbuddyx I would, but I haven't seen it myself.

I was hoping to maybe find some input & info about this product here originally. but 88handman said it's good.

  • Seek God and His son. Pursue Him and not the sect. This goes for everyone! What does this profit? Pursue Him!

  • I and my family listen to the WOP each day. My children love it. It is extremely well done. Great job!

  • Word of Promise is absolutely amazing!

  • 66 books in the bibel not 73 books.

    Old Testament = 39

    New Testament = 27

    39 + 27 = 66

But yeah there is books that they didnt put in the bibel for a reason. and btw no offence if i offended you:)

  • @vismannen I think the commenter is referring to the fact that for 1500 years those books were in the Bible. It's not that "they" didn't put them in. It's that a different "they" took them out. Martin Luther actually wanted to take out 7 more books. From the New Testament. Now that would have been interesting!

  • And may I add that the 7 books from the OT are still in Catholic Bibles. We haven't removed them.

  • @DiscipleOfChrist96 good, was wondering about that, thanks! Just found out about this about 3 minutes ago!

  • Comment removed

  • @vismannen The Catholic bible is 72...the Protestant is 66. So hes right. The "Complete" version has 72, not 66. Martin Luther took out 7 because he didnt like them...Including Maccabees. Which is a FANTASTIC book. I feel that Protestants are cheated out of some fantastic books just cuz one person didnt want them in. Its a shame.

  • @williwo Catholics are corrupt. They twisted truths, taking Jesus's seat and forgiving men in confession which only Jesus can do. They persecuted the saints for 1260 years, and they also said the only THEY had the authority to read the bible, which is why we needed someone like Martin Luther to translate the bible. If those other 7 books were really important, God would have spoken to to Luther and told him to include it. Don't you think God has that power?

  • @Jrodmusics You're an Absolute Liar. YOU are the ones that asre corrupt. YOUR POPE is Martin Luther, whether you want to admit it or not. How could they have persecuted the Saints when the Saints WERE Catholic? It was Protestants who persecuted Saints after 1517. Protestants have written Revisionist History to try to make themselves look valid. You've Twisted the Scriptures to your own benefit and even took certain books out just cuz you didn't like what they said.

  • @williwo BTW, Martin luther is no pope to me. pope isnt in my vocabulary. He's just a man. I dont look at a man and say "Oh man he has higher authority than me", because the only one who has higher authority is God.

  • @Jrodmusics But he is though. You've chosen to accept HIS interpretation of the Scriptures. We can talk about what is and isnt in the Bible all day long. But Faith without works is COMPLETELY unbiblical. This is a concept many Protestants teach. The Book of James strictly refutes this and Jesus condemned this type of thinking as well. Hence why he came up with the Beatitudes and condemned the Pharisees. Faith WITHOUT Good Works to back it up is invalid.

  • @Jrodmusics Exactly. You're just a "MAN" too aren't you? So what makes your interpretation of the Bible any better than the mine or the Pope's? What gives YOU the right to have the final say so on what the Bible Actually teaches? Why do you think Jesus appointed Peter and the Twelve Apostles? Do you think he meant for the Apostles to die and just have everyone intrepret the Scriptures how they want? Gimme a Break! Of course not! Thats why he and Apostles established SUCCESSION...thus the Church

  • @williwo ok look at this. God made Adam with the intention of always being without sin and always perfect. And the succession after Adam sinned was sin... The Devils temptation leading to many wars, hate, violence.... Just because the pope is a successor dont think hes the next step down from Jesus, because the truth is, hes no better or no smarter at interpreting the scriptures than you and i.

  • @Jrodmusics I Agree with that. As a Person the Pope is no better than you or I. ALL Catholics agree on this. The Pope Believes this more than anybody probably! But like Peter....the Pope holds an office. Just like the President. Like the President, he has the Right to make decisions other people dont have. It has NOTHING to do with holding more value as a Person....its just the Office. Thats it, nothing more. Hell Jesus chose someone who Denied him 3 times! Think about that one.

  • @Jrodmusics That shows how Foolish you are . Martin Luther DID NOT put the Bible together. The Bible was composed at the Council of Nicea in the 300's by the Church. The Bible you read was put together BY CATHOLICS! You merely broke off from us because you don't like Authority. You want to interpret the Scriptures the way YOU Want To see them. Luther traslated the Bible to German and took out certain books because HE didnt want them in there....not God.

  • @Jrodmusics Also you talk about Saints. Who do you think declares Saints? It certainly isnt Protestants. I cant stand you Catholic-Bashing Protestants who think you're all Innocent. Protestants murdered MANY Catholics after the Reformation and England is a classic Example. Both sides committed bad acts......but you all took it to a whole new level. How can you claim to be the True Church when there are over 1000 sects of you and you've only been around for 500 years? What a joke

  • @williwo Honestly, you're right, i don't know who put the bible together. But i do know that confessions in a common practice in the Catholic religion. How can get be that i must confess my sins to a priest saying "father i have sinned" when my only father is God. Only Jesus has the power to forgive sins. While we can forgive each other for things we do to one another. And i don't understand, are you saying its better for the priest to read you the bible and tell you what to believe?....

  • @williwo contnued... Martin Luther did a good thing translating the bible so that now the world can read and interpret the truth. Do you think that bathtizing a baby is right? Bathtizing a baby before s/he accepts Jesus Christ is not biblical. One must accept Jesus, then be bathtized. You must also read the word and study it, you must engage in prayer and talk to God, you must shine the light that God instilled in you to the world, and last but not least, follow his law. Im not against any ...

  • @Jrodmusics Catholic person. I am against the religion. They have a lot of common practices are are false. Confessions, bathtizing babies, the pope having the authoirty of Jesus, the changing of the true Sabbath day from Saturday to Sunday. When Abel gave God a sacrifice in which God asked, and Cain gave his sacrifice that God did not ask for, what did God do? He accepted Abel's but bot Cains. This is the same case for the Sabbath, but God will only punish you on what you know and could have done

  • @Jrodmusics Then you Shouldn't have said Catholics are Corrupt. Don't lie, you're biased against Catholics. And the Pope DOESNT have the authority of Jesus. He is the successor of Peter, not Jesus. All you have to do is actually read the Scriptures rather than picking individual lines like you all have a tendency to do. I don't Dislike Protestants in General, but I don't like the ones who make up lies About Catholics. BTW....We DONT Worship Mary. Thats another Damn Lie

  • @williwo Well our works definitely DONT determine our salvation ill tell you that much. As a seventh day adventist, we dont believe in salvation by works. But check this out. Because you love God so much, because you read his word, and because you want to please God, you would go out and do missionaries spreading the gospel of Christ throughout the world. So of course works doesnt save you, but the grace you receive from God makes you jump to heels wanting to spread his message. Thats what we ..

  • @Jrodmusics And our WORKS DO Determine our Salvation. Thats Purely Scriptural. If you dont think you'll be judged on your actions....then you've got another thing Coming! Thats very Dangerous to think that way. Faith Alone Aint Gonna Cut It! Thats taking the easy way out. Read the book of James. We could debate this ALL Day and not get anywhere. So I'll Challenge you on one thing. Read the Catechism. You want to Understand us? Read the Actual Teaching

  • @williwo .. believe, but what about the whole bathtisim question i asked about babies? and what about confession and say your three hail marys? What about changing the sabbath? And look i dont want to fight, i am simply looking at the difference in the two religions, and comparing the differences and why theyre like they are. And obviously what youve been taught and ive been taught are a little different, but out job as Christians are to get to the bottom of this and come to an agreement...

  • @Jrodmusics Then let get to the bottom. I think I just answered the Baptism thing Below. Now Mary. We "Honor" Mary. You honor your mother, right? Well its the SAME thing. We HONOR her as the Mother of Jesus. We PRAY to her so that she may Present the Prayers to Jesus. We don't pray to her to worship her. What better way to truly get to the son than through the Mother? It has nothing to do with Worship. That would be Blasphemy. We pray for her Assistance just like we would for Angels and saints

  • @williwo Mary is dead. You are praying to a dead person. Sure gave birth to Jesus, Hallelujah! But she's a human like you and I and she died so she cannot hear anything you are saying. The only person you should pray to is God in the name of the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit. Also I didnt mean that we are only saved by grace. we need both grace and works. sorry if i made it sound that way.. here's a bible verse that supports both our views"You see that a man is justified by works...

  • @Jrodmusics Again I just disagree with you. We believe that Mary ascended into Heaven like Elijah did. There is Absolutely no historical Record of Mary's death. Shes not just another person. She carried God herself within her. Don't you think Jesus would want you to honor his pwn mother? Read the part at the crucifixion with Mary and John. And there are many, many Protestants who believe Catholics are going to Hell. But then you all are divided anyway. There are thousands of sects of you.

  • @williwo ..... , and not by faith alone." Also we do not believe that you are going to hell. Jesus only judges people on what they know and what they could of learned. There is salvation in every religion, so long as they life to the fullest truth that they have learned. Also we (seventh day adventist) believe that Hell fire does not exist forever. If the new Jerusalem will be on this earth, how would it make sense to hear people crying and burning in torment outside of the city? this world..

  • @Jrodmusics Ohhh.....you're a Seventh day Adventist. You're not even a traditional "Protestant" then. As a matter of fact, you disagree with Traditional Protestants on a number of things dont you?

  • @Jrodmusics Apparently you dont believe in an immortal soul as I understand it. Is this correct? That is very unscriptural. Also, it seems that your "Pope" is Ellen G. White, since you regard her writings as "Truth". Is this true? What makes her so right and all of the Popes so wrong? And finally, you all were founded in 1863. You all are not the Church of Christ. You havn't even existed throughout most of Christianity! You're just another broken off sect like all the others.

  • @williwo ... and i dont mean agreement as to what we think, but as to what the bible says. But we both know ho the Devil has been trying to mess up God's plan from the beginning, so we have to see what he's corrupting. And since Catholicism was and is still popular, the Devil seeks to use what is popular. Its only common sense for the Devil to use a medium that contains many members. But this is needless to say, we all need to study the bible and test our pastors and priests.

  • @Jrodmusics But I challenge you. Protestantism is more popular in America. How do you know the Devil isn't working through it to keep as many people out of the Catholic Church as he can? We're gonna Disagree on this stuff. All I request is that you all stop with the hurtful lies. Stop saying we're all gonna go to Hell and arent Saved. Thats Rubbish. GOD Alone Knows who is saved. NOT US. We WANT to get along with you all and always have...but you make it so Damn Diffucult

  • @williwo and all its sin will be burned with a complete burning bathtism at the end of the 1000 years which will remove sin from this world forever.. and that is what we believe.

  • @Jrodmusics There is only one Church that can trace 265 men back 2000 years to Simon Peter. And whether you want to believe it or not, its the Catholic Church. You all cant claim that. You've only been around since the 1860's. You're another Protestant Sect that broke off like all the others....because you want to do everything YOUR way. Jesus gave the keys of the kingdom to Peter for a REASON. He gave the Apostles AND THEIR Successors Authority. We are the only ones who trace back to Jesus

  • @williwo Hey, i just went to comment you, and i found something disturbing. You're telling me about Catholicism is the true Religion and that nothing else can be because Jesus gave the keys to Peter. But then why did God give the key to Adam and Eve? In turn, the devil corrupted God's plan and God ha to show them a new plan. So what you say is not true. Also when i went to comment you, i've seen you're favorites, and honestly, i felt dirty looking at it. You have a bunch of videos of girls......

  • @Jrodmusics A. God didnt give any key to adamand eve. Thats not in the Bible. B. Nice way to divert attention from my questions so you dont have to answer them. Yes, I have girls on there. Whats your point? I never said I was a "Great" Catholic. This has NOTHING to with me. This is about History. That was a Cheap Tactic on your part. I challenged you on history and you resorted to personal attacks. I got news for you. YOU'RE A SINNER TOO.

  • @williwo bathing and girls dancing. And look im not judging, but lets say a non-Christian took you seriously and wanted to know more. Then upon arriving at your page they go and see your favorites. Don't you think they would say "Hey, this person is just like me, he's not set apart. He's not in Christ." As a Christian, you have to set yourself apart from the world. You have to follow the sanctuary in order from bathtisim to the Arc of the Covenant. You have to set an example and shed light.....

  • @williwo to the world by the things you do. Once you take on Jesus's Chracter, theyll go and say "WOW!, this man is different than i am. There's something about him that i want to know. He's a great person and isn't like the average person." By doing this, they'll go to you and want to know about you and your personality, thus being able to talk about Christ and how he changed your life. Again, i'm not judging you, and i'm no better than you. And ever since a year ago (when i got baptized)....

  • @williwo i have not been let down by the SDA religion. I find all the teaching to be true. They always tell me "Don't take my word for it, you must search the scriptures yourself and pray to God and ask him for truth, for all you know God can use anyone to spread lies, so always search the scriptures for youself and pray" My dad used to be a catholic and converted to SDA because he said he's seen so much inconsistencies in the church. He didn't like how the catholic religion would bow down ..

  • @Jrodmusics Incosistencies? Are you kidding? The Protestants are the ones who have broken into thousands of sects. Are you telling me theres no inconsistency there? Also, dont judge all Catholics on whats on my page. Theres a LOT of Catholics that are a LOT holier than I am. And once again...no offense to your dad...thats a typical Protestant trai. You break away from something JUST BECAUSE you dont like certain things, like Martin Luther.

  • @williwo to a Jesus statue or Mary statue or even a cross when the Bible strictly forbids this (You shall not make unto you any graven images.) He didn't like how you had to confess to a man, knowing that the man he's confessing to, is a sinner himself. Only Jesus has the power to forgive sins. and by the way, Jn 20:22 is saying that if you forgive someones sin they they have committed towards you, they are forgiven, but any sin against God must be taken with God.

  • @Jrodmusics Also when a person confesses to a man, they ARE confessing to Jesus. It is simply done through the Priest. Once again....you all want to take the easy way out on everything. You guys are the ones with no consistency. ANYBODY can ask for forgiveness in one's heart, but thats so easy. Also Jesus GAVE the apostles and their successors the power to forgive sins. That is COMPLETELY scriptural.

  • @Jrodmusics Lets put the focus back on you all for a bit. You havnt acknowledged that you're less than 200 years old. You havnt acknowledged that you go by the writings and teachings of Ellen G. White. So for you, Its MORE than just the Bible....which actually puts you at odd with other Protestants. You talk about confessing to only a "Man." But you all regard the teachings of a mere woman as "Truth". Sounds hypocritical to me.

  • @Jrodmusics Then why was Jesus presented in the Temple when he was a week old? Is this not Biblical? We're only follwing the same pattern. You guys just dont get it. Baptism Removes Original Sin. Thats why we do it so quickly. When a person comes of Age, then we have CONFIRMATION. THAT is when a person decides whether or not they want to be a full member in the Church. If you all would Actually READ what the Church teaches, instead of making up phony lies...then you'd understand it a lot better

  • can't help but wonder if Word of Promise includes the 'entire' bible? It probably doesn't contain all 73 books, which is sad, but still a brilliantly made and very worthy project. Excellent! It will undoubtedly change lives/hearts in this dark, troubled, sin-stained world. Great interview w/ Jim Caviezel on TBN which is how I discovered this today.

  • this will change lives!!!

  • Wow, Gary Sinise as David. A beautiful voice reading the beautiful Word.
