  • This game was played at Iowa Field House on the campus of the University of Iowa.

  • Looks like the reason Cazzie didn't jump much is that he got hit right away with an elbow on the way up, and then again on the way down. The throw looks pretty good.

  • wow man , for 1966 the ball is moving pretty good :)

  • Apparently Smith did make contact with Russell, and Russell nailed both free throws and Michigan won. I think Michigan caught a big break at the end.

  • No contact that I can see. Cazzie didn't really attempt to jump and looked to be backing away anticipating where the tip might land. Total screw job by the ref. WKU got their revenge, beating the Fab Two UM team during the 1995 NCAA though.

  • I disagree with your reasoning, it looked to me like he jumped with his elbow forward trying to get Cazzie out of the way, you can't tell from that angle if he threw it towards Cazzie's side or not. But thanks for showing the Michigan victory anyway.

  • Unfortunately, I agree, you can't really tell. And let me say that I don't necessarily feel that the ball was thrown more towards Russell, but many WKU fans do.
