Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2: Not Balanced for Lean

All you conspiracy theorists need to calm down a bit. It as nothing to do with some "Master Plan" to move people from Console to PC gaming. It's a simple design development decision. If they make the game at it's core the same with the Xbox and PC version without having to add things like console, lean, and coding for dedicated servers, that decreases the time and cost for both formats.

Blame the one game a year Madden-like greed cycle with not enough dev time, not some crazy conspiracy.

Well obviously nothing is balanced for lean. If things started leaning, they would become unbalanced and fall over. One exception may be the leaning tower of pizza.

lean function has been available since Medal of Honor Allied Assault (the developers who made CoD1) and Return to Castle Wolfenstein (the game engine CoD1 was made from)

The TRUTH is they gave the console's a pretty much equal experience to us in CoD4, graphics not as sharp and no lean, but otherwise good fps, good gameplay.

So this time they decided to take us for a ride, and cut us down to the console version. I'm surprised we're allowed AA and high resolutions. That's ALL that's left.

didnt golden eye for nintendo 64 have lean. If so its kind of sad how most consoles shooters today cant even have lean. Something Operation Flashpoint Dragon Rising. The game is a military simulation but has no lean. So much for "simulation" in that part.

I'm more of a console guy only because you don't really have to upgrade stuff.

Still, WTF? Take out the lean? On consoles, you can compensate for lean by moving slowly with the analog stick. However on PC, the arrow keys do not provide the ability to control your speed. Leaning was a great function to compensate for the inability to control speed.

in real life... aiming your sights doesn't magically fix the bullet spread, you just can't accurately see where you're aiming. It's only really for range shooting, a soldier won't ALWAYS stop, aim down, take out a target, and advance. They somtimes lock their gun close to their shoulder, especially in close quarters.

No it doesnt but it fixes where you aim, i've been in the army and it should be obvious to anyone, you don't hipshoot its inaccurate and you'd be dead before your enemy if he fires back.

You might do it in tough situation just to fire or inhouse very close quarter, otherwise hipfire is bullshit, but cod has never ever been about realism, please remember that if you want a realistic game go play Arma, RO so much more mature.

I dont see why they should balance any game around consoles, I mean, correct me if I'm wrong, but there are very few games that are actually worth playing on a console rather than a PC.

The only ones I'd prefer going for on consoles are sports games and hack and slash games like devil may cry and arcades like soul calibur.

Otherwise, anything involving a crosshair is redundant without a mouse, same for games that require many buttons and more than 1 character and strats.

I own a console, so never had lean. Until I bought Call of Duty Classic from XBLA/PSN, they kept it in for that.

Now I've got the feel for it, I wish they put it in for console's and it sucks for PC gamers that not even they can have it for MW2...

I couldn't wait until this game is released and when I tried it, it totally sucked, I even thought my keys are broken until I went to the controls options and found out that there is no lean, they FUCKED UP the game, call of duty was always a pleasure to play. but now its pain in the ass, well its good that I didn't buy the game, I downloaded it, by the way downloading such game is legal because it sucks, you'll uninstall it and won't continue playing anyway...

Lean was a little broken in CoD4, since your viewpoint is above your head. You could effectively hide your entire body while still being able to see and shoot at other players. That had to be fixed somehow, and removing lean was a quick fix.

Good news guys we have coders that cracked the console access for peeking it's disabled in modern warfare 2 it's just there. Someone found a way to enable lean but we still cannot play multiplayer because VAC will ban you. Someone did host a dedicated server but lan. IW is lazy so we're doing the coding, it's in the codes alright just disabled. We can lean in mw 2 now. Just be patience until we figure this out! :D it does have LEAN!
