I had a PRESTINE 96. Had it for about two years absolutely loved it! I would've given up the ability to have children to keep it!(cant fit them in that sucker anyway) They are so timeless. It never failed while I was pumping gas people always asked what year it was I told them, and they were shocked. They thought it was an '01. Mind you the car was12 years old. But as the economy started going to shit and money wasn't going as far I had to trade down to a 97 xj8.
I bought a 1992 300sl with less than 60k on clock for under £7000 a year later it's still faultless and still very classy. It's great to drive but a cruiser rather than a sports car.
LOVE this car! Would still want one today. They're actually very slow though, even with the V8. I remember the first time my Dad saw one of these he said "Looks like a Lebaron." But what does he know.

what do you mean very slow??? 0-100 in 500sl or sl500 is 6.2 it's still fast and a lot faster than new sl350
