Great video...i have a question. This is my first year growing and I have several types of peppers. One of my orange bell pepper plants is EXTREMELY healthy - there are over 40 peppers growing on it right now. How do I preserve the seeds from a pepper so that I can grow from seed next year.
I have tried it non-dried before and it did not work. Drying the seeds out first will ensure proper germination. Since the season is almost over for starting from seed - to - plant, you may want to try the local nursery, > hirts dott kom, or > chile plants dott kom.
But yes my peter red(s) are doing excellent, and I have even done it with melons bought from stater bros [dried and planted].
bahamalesster: The black princes along with the fataliis were bought dried from thehippyseedcompany. It warns not to be surprised if they dont sprout due to drying. to my luck they did.
The dorset seeds were obtained from (really cool seeds) but they were a$s%oles about shipping them.
Fools hybrid was seed from a plant bought at chileplants dott com
Peter reds were seed from the mother plant. the mother plant was from chileplants dott com.
freakjoshy: mostly from [[ chile plants dott com ]] and neil smith/ the hippyseedcompany of down under; however he warns not to really expect it to germiniate since I purchased the dried pods.
Good luck. I also try to

I know it may sound like a long time but 3-4 months and dried seeds can be planted. That way you can correlate it to the season start.

If I get my seeds straight from a Pepper, do I have to let the seeds dry out first before I can plant them?

I would say YES!
