His voice is like a river flowing in a serene ambiance, touches the hearts of one and all, I may not be able to understand each word of this song but never fails to feel the true emotions, the emotions connects one to this pure soul, i.e., Jagjit Sir, U will remain in my heart always. I wish I could replace your death but.............................RIP Sir.........................
I don't understand Punjabi (for that matter much of Urdu or Hindi subtleties) but this particular rendering takes me 'elsewhere'. Always did. It took me a some time and courage to get back to hearing your lovely voice Jagjit-ji after I heard that you left us bereft by your departure. BUT we do have you always with us
Million thanks for the many many minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, decades of providing at least this one ignorant person - succour, relief and pure uplifting joy.
you brought tears into my eyes...thanks rest in peace with your son and daughter, Jagjit Saheb. Can you imagine while singing he must be missing his own son so much who died so young.
urdu ghazal was made for your vocals.. the true legend , the God father of urdu ghazals ,not even a single day in my last 22 yrs was spent with out ur voice , may ur soul rest in peace...
Absolutely heartmelting.....you don't even need to understand the lyric to feel the emotion conveyed through this incredibly delicate voice of this vocal genius.
While complaing about the non-responsiveness of that child she shows her sorrow of her husband being away from home. She says because he is away from home she does not understand how she will take care of this child all alone and how she will fulfill his needs while the (so called) father of that (so called) child is away.
This is a sad song about a woman who has no child of her own and whose husband is in pardes. She makes a statue of a child out of soil and treats it as a child of her own. While she is tending that "child", she complains that this child does not move, does not cry or ask for anything from her.
Mitti Da Bawa Lyrics Jagjit Singh Mitti Da Baba Main Banani Ha, Weh Zhaka Pandi Ha, Weh Uthe Dendi Ha Khese, Na Ro Mitti Deya Babeya, Weh Tera Pyo Pardeshi, O Mitti Da Baba Nayiyo Bolda, Mitti Da Baba Nayiyo Bolda, Weh Nayiyo Chalda, Weh Nayo Denda Hai Hungare, Na Roo Mitti Deya Babeya, Weh Tera Pyo Banjara, Kite Ta Lawa Kaliya, Weh Pata Waliya, Weh Mera Ptla Mahi, Kite Ta Lawa Shetut, Weh Menu Smaz Na Aawe
A most moving geet sung even more movingly. Great violin and flute players can always intensify the pathos of such songs. Part of the credit for the affecting quality of this song should go to the violinist --without detracting from the superb JS rendition. The tabla beats are just right, too, in their subdued rhythm. Thanks, Majeedji.
It is impossible to hold back beginning at 4:08....it just melts the heart there

You can sense that he was very lonely without his son. Even Chitraji left singing, daughter committed suicide, you can imagine his lonliness.
