I believe that Stalin was childish and narcsistic. So when Hitler did something Stalin didn't like he wanted revenge. Revenge is one of humans basic feelings and it can affect decision even for dictators.

Stalin's industrialization cost the lives of 10-20 million Soviet citizens. It was hell. And, him defeating Hitler was nothing positive for Europe, Stalin was worse than Hitler. Eastern Europe after Hitler got a worse dictator in Stalin.
