This video reminded me to change pedals on my single speed bike. I had those old bear feet big pedals stuck into old cranks. Finally I carefully cut the alu cranks from around the pedals. I couldn't stand not to try it out so I put headlights on and went for a midnight hill ride.
Geezer, have you ever tried Municycling in dark on off road trails? It seems possible with lights attached to the helmet.
Yeah I had one of those krypton halogen night lights a while back, but riding offroad is still tricky and I always was riding into freshly made spider webs! All my riding is done during daylight, but nightriding was still kinda fun while it lasted.
If you have square tapers, take your cranks off and *move* them, to the next position and reinstall. If you have splined, move them about 1/4 rotation and reinstall them. By doing this every month, depending on how often you ride, your tire will wear more evenly, especially if you do trials, tricks or just hop a lot. Another way to do it would be to deflate your tire and just slide it on the rim about the same distance. This way you won't get too much wear in just one spot of your tire.
Where did you get that tool? Looks like Park Tools only sells either square OR ISIS, but not a universal with wrench.

Thank you very much! Now I am sure that I know how to do it.

That was good to see Terry. I like mechanics.

Me too. There had been a thread asking how to, so I thought I'd make this.

Your last comment "...change crank position every month or so for even tire wear." What do you mean by that?
