  • @5:26 why not play Re4?

  • Well, good video, but I did not see so many difficulties. May be you can post another video with more challenging positions ;)

  • is it a draw if 2 pawns are not connected?

  • There are rare positions where disconnected rook and bishop pawns on the same side will draw (I had such a drawn position in a tournament game once, but couldn't hold the draw), but other than that, if one side has two safe pawns up it is a win.

  • both rook pawns is often a draw and the rook and bishop pawns on same side. Also, i would guess that if the pawns are doubled its a draw if his king is on the queening square.

  • All three of these endgame simulator videos were very enlightening Matt -- I must admit I've never been a huge fan of playing computers, I find they blunt you're instincts for human players. Lol plus modern programs such as fritz 10/11 are practically invincible. But I've had a go on this and your right it is good practice.

I also look forward to your analysis of your latest tourney.

  • Queen vs rook isn't that hard. Keep checking the king while maneuvering the queen to fork the king and rook winning the rook(avoiding the stalemate sacrifice). I request this(a queen vs rook checkmate).

  • Good video Castle! Looking forward to your analysis of your recent tournament.

  • Thanks! Glad you're still enjoying the endgame simulator.

  • I recommend it to everyone I talk to about chess training. This is probably the last such video I'll shoot, though.
