I would imagine the reason Diot went berserk towards the climax of Series 3 is because of the power he gained. The moment he became a vampire in Part One, he gained the upper hand, and it was only thanks to the power of Hamon that he was defeated. Upon gaining a Stand and the ability to stop time, he was virtually unstoppable. Absorbing Joseph's blood only made him stronger; he became "complete". That kind of power would easily drive him to even more megalomaniacal degrees of madness.
The world's blazing fists are faster and stronger than Platinum star's, also they have a longer range. But Platinum Star is faster with another attacks, has powerfull specials and he casts tokyo tomare faster.
Dio was always an asshole. He kissed Jonathan Joestar's girlfriend (forget her name, but she essentially was his gf) just to embarass her and then hit her. He attacked Jonathan's dog. He poisoned his own father (killing him) and Jonathan's father as well.
He is the definition of an asshole. But he is still badass, and also, a great villian, because you want to see him pay for all the terrible things he does to the protagonist.
@Zzouzeizeski Dio is the original awesome vampire. I wouldn't compare Remilia and Dio, because they're both amazing. Dio though...he's got the Time Stop and the Road Roller and th--
