Her feeling better may have been due to her desire for their to be a cure. The Psychiatrist offered a category for her to fit into, just like every other social institution does. She latched onto that category and it has made her feel more accepted and correct. Her concept of what she is and what can heal her is a social construction.
they way i see it yes a schizophrenic can silence the voices within if I'm not mistaken John Nash the famous mathematician (who was schizo by the way) said that he actually did it to some extent. In the bottom line don't let psychiatrists label you most of those people are just repeating what they've learned in a book (the thought police that's i call them ) .
check out the movie children of dune look at Alia's behavior clearly she is totally schizo paranoid, also something interesting that you should pay attention to is what leto the second says "I HAVE SILENCED THE VOICES WITHIN WHO WOULD'VE POSSESSED ME ...."
Vladimir Harkonen says to Alia (he is the main voice possessing her ) :"I'M ONLY THE MANIFESTATION OF YOURSELF..."(in other words the voices are directly connected to the subject mental state).
It's like people with schizo confuse the I and the Me.
If you let yourself over analyze body language and facial features in a conversation, the part of your brain that is working on conceptualizing will lag behind.
This sometimes happens to me, but I use a modern ethics viewpoint to decide which "voice" (or mind "state") to go to.

@aleon1018 yeah that's what happens when thinking is really altered-- weird thoughts or experiences that we can't explain, sometimes they're just dreams or overanalyzing things that typically make sense. I tend to focus on the rational experiences, and not on the stressful ones or subjectively analyze what others say.

schizoaffective is from the schizophrenia spectrum. It is not as severe, but I have schizoaffective and medication did get rid of those symptoms I had as a teen; now I've been in remission for about four years and I'm only twenty-three. They first diagnosed me with paranoid schizophrenia, but the medication was so effective that I went into long-term remission and haven't relapsed since I was 17. I'm not sure about the bias against meds, they are overprecribed I think, but it really helped me.
@TheAmazingTubester Do you mind if I ask you what medication you were on? I can't keep up with what med is for which of my conditions, but since I was diagnosed as paranoid schizophrenic, I've taken lamictal, risperidal, celexa, lithium and thorazine. So far, none are workinG> It's really hard to tell sometimes, because I have MPD as well. I neer know if it's schizo or mpd when i think i'm someone else, become someone else. i'm scared to live like this.
I've had memories of people saying things they then claimed they never said. I've also recalled having said things I wasn't even thinking or knew. It seems as if more like possession than mental illness. I've also had missing time events of an hour or even more as had others in the room or location. There was even memories of evidence left in the room or electrical activity such as damage to wires and a brown out. That was in an outpatient facility. One patient walked out and refused to return.

Medication does not cure the source of the problem. I barely stops the symptomes in a non natural way. I believe that such "illnesses" can be cured only through understanding from the concerned person of their condition, and the understanding and support of her relatives and friends.
@ZTalks26 I think you're right about understanding, and I also think there should be more of a "better than we thought" outlook on people who have it I was diagnosed with early onset and I was nowhere near the stereotypical children who have schizophrenia.

This is very sad when the inner world cannot make sense of the outer world. We become adept at hiding our inner thoughts & try to think & behave as we believe is expected of us. @madmanatsea everyone is different and every DISORDER is different, you cannot generalise them all...and she is on meds... she explains how she feels better. however, most people with mental illness may not appear ill.
her ability to describe the illness.. is very insightful..my father has been diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder.. he was incredibly hard person to deal with growing up.. i couldn't even get a point across to him as a teenager or young adult..flew off the handle..paced floors..once medicated properly what a difference.. i actually enjoy sitting with him..
@cdee12120 Yes, I agree, she explains her past behavior symptoms well. Plus she is aware of what she is doing and thinking now. She seems incredibly insightful. I understand about the stuffing anger bit, so well. But when I got off valium and ativan it all came bubbling to the top. I hated myself for my emotions I could not control, nor could I stuff them any longer.
@9Iamthewalrus She was having auditory hallucinations. YOU may call that whatever the hell you want, but it's pretty upsetting and crippling and terrifying to the person who is having them. The medications are not perfect, and they have side effects, but they DO dissolve the hallucinations and calm the mind of the terrified person. Even to the point where they can be happy and productive. Stick to whatever you might know about. And see if you can define 'illness'... doctor..
@108vasudeva guess what, the hallusinations are real for her. its her reality. who are you to say whats real or not, things that are real to you arent real to her and visa versa. most anxiety that comes from scitzofrenia is the thought that there is something wrong with you, not in this case but often. we dont share a common reality, my reality is different from yours and hers. we all have our dimentions. and illness is a diviation from a functioning bodyin the form of contamination
it's good this woman learn't to talk about how she feels. I don't talk about bad feelings even if I do I just say I'm a bit sensitive so please don't take me the wrong way and be patient with me, 2day I went out to the store and felt so ancious and it was a horrible feeling,
you want to know how does it feel to be shizo? take too much magic mushrooms or LSD. no matter how logical and feet-on-the-ground are you, you will literally go insane for about 3-4 hours. it does not mean mean beeing aggresive (you MAY be tho). AND 1 more thing. you can't OD on psychodelic drugs. but i imagine if you would eat an insane dosage (like 20 grams of shrooms) you may hurt yourself or some1 else.
It absolutely was racist saying that the "white people's" remedies are damaging. Now you move on to say that the Europeans have told the non Europeans how do do thing's, that's just blatant stupidity. So what is it, are the Europeans to blame or are you pointing fingers at all Caucasians (since a LOT of "non-Europeans" are in fact white). People's instincts are NOT a way to find out what is real, and also, if there was a god, he'd/she'd slap you for being ignorant.
I WAS ABLE TO ESDCAPE THE3 FATE OF BEING TURNED INOT A FULL BLOW MENTAL CASE BY MY FAMILY WHEN I TOOK CONTROL OF MY OWN LIFE. KNEW WHAT I SAW WAS REAL AND MADE A BOLD STEP TO ESCAPE. I GOT A JOB, THAT LED TO ANOTHER AND HTEN A TRIP 3 YEARS LATER THAT LED TO ME HEALING ALL OF MY CONDTIONS AND CLOSE THE HOLE THAT SOMEONE GOT IN. PEOPLE MADE THREATS THERE AFTER TO DO TO ME WHAT I SAW DONE TO ME. I WAS STRONER AND I GOT MY LIFE AND IDENTITY BACK FROM WHAT MY FAMILY DID AND IT WAS HARDER. BUT THIS
The most dangerous people are those who go around telling people that shamans and exorcists can help folks with serious medical ailments. Too bad there isn't a law and punishment for them....they are some of the worst people in the world...please keep your superstitions to yourself.
Every one of the shrinks are intellectual perverts and professional voyeurs who seek to elevate their socio-economic status above other by victimizing them for their legitimate human vulnerabilities - in fact, that is the entire purpose and goal of this discipline.
They sell you the crutch of hypothetical illness, and offer a chemical lobotomy as a solution.
Afraid of people after being teased as a child? Depressed?
Of course, this has nothing to do with chronic low self esteem, which makes it very difficult to move forward in life.
Whatever people's issues are, blindly manipulating their brain chemistry in an admittedly unknown manner is both fraud, and effectively murder, as it reduces your lifespan with neurotoxins, as well as shutting down one's higher faculties, necessary to work through an understanding of one's environment.
my family constantly denies my disorder, I am lucid and my cognition is good but I have always been paranoid, I just didn't realize it....this is not a pathological illness and there are no tests that can be administered that can show any abnormalities in either chemical levels (serotonin) or brain function, more people suffer from this than most will ever know.
This poor woman has an illness. my mother has something similar minus the voices. This is not funny GROW UP!!!! if you had that illness would you enjoy people making fun of you. and yes this video does belong here. youtube is the gate way for infomation so every one can see it. If you dont think it belongs here or dont like it. WHY IN THE BLUE FUCK YOU SEARCHED FOR SCHIZOPHENIA!!!! This is no joke and if you had it i would feel for you and do my best to help you not laugh at you.
@rainbowaon a shaman usually doesn't claim to be a shaman either....once you speak with them you will just know....they say the difference between a psychotic and a mystic is that the mystic knows who 'not' to talk to ;)
Ohmygosh. Does anybody else see the perfect resemblance in face, voice and attitude between "Barbara Myers" and that crazy gym teacher in Donnie Darko?...
tHIS IS NORMAL AGAIN LOL.....i keep watching these videos of people who have been diagnosed with Schizophrenia who have symptoms of normal people HAHAHAHA
The talking about things won't cure it. Balance will. The right med coctail is different for everyone, we aren't all made the same. Lucky for her she got the right batch right away, she is the exception, not the rule
Its exactly the same with me. I hear what people are thinking all the time. She`s empathic, not schizophrenic!`Yes, it`s hell. It`s hell being an empath. But sick, we`re not.
@nir8vana I get their emotions, too. Sometimes I can interpret them, sometimes not. Sometimes I don`t know who`s feeling what. And sometimes I really hear thoughts, too. But I think this is the way we`re MEANT to be!
I can use telepathy and it is similar to this girl or have the same effect on me. I am maybe the only person that can use telepathy all the time , send
and receive voice and video on distance of few kilometer. It works all the time and 100% correct.
I think it is important for science and human kind to make research on my brain and find out how this works.
My telepathy manifest itself exact like "Schneider's first-rank symptoms".
All people see things cause all people have feelings. Feelings cause your brain to create things. This is called faith. If you really believe that u see something no matter what it is, your brain will create it. Calm down and everything will instantly change. You can say that something is real only when u take your feelings out of it cause everything you feel that will happen can become a fantasy. So just try to live in the present cause everytime u see something, it's just YOU in faith.
Hey guys. I'm battling from schizophrenia. I'm not asking for money or views or anything, but just for support and for people to hear me out. My psychiatrist said to let people know about your problem, but everyone thinks I'm weird and my family cannot understand or take me seriously. I made a blog about my problems, and I hope we can talk on there. My blog is battlingschizophrenia.blogspot.com . Fellow schizophrenics, you should also come. We can fight the battle together.
@Trinexx360 ok right, granted that they probably have the cure for the common cold but its not so serious so they profit from it. This is a serious mental disorder which we can't cure because we don't know what causes it. Is it ventricles, dopamine, genetics, flu during pregnancy, expressed emotion, schizophrenagenic mother, operant conditioning? Please tell me if your such an expert. Don't trivialise this or make psychologists who dedicate their life to finding a cause seem like the bad guys -
@widae2fresh see, im a hard worshipper, believe it or not. My first true love was Jesus Christ. He is always in my heart. sure, he can take the pain away temporarily, but after so long, it keeps comming back to me, and its not going anywhere. its a mental disease. its captivated me, and im its prisoner. its there. ive accepted it. ive learned how to live with it. sure, its hard, but i believe that it was gods plan to make me stronger,
If his father was really a cannabis doctor of some kind, maybe it was a deeper taoist truth. The true healing, letting go completely, the spirit. Entering, Wanti lives again now, all throughout everything, the Yomo and Yaveyetta's blessing is here, Aorin, Ila, and Upto, the sacred trickster, we have lost enough, there is enough love, we have strength in this journey, as we gather peacefully, in the deep and obvious places,
in the fairy dwellings, in the ways of the ancients, the random dharma of life is for sure a healing one, the way of kuan yin, has anything really been lost? gained? or is it just equal? Only time will tell, for now we offer thanks to the compassion and love which surrounds us, the true dharma of the city, all the trees, still raving, among such strangeness
armed with intense gnostic truth, amy mila entered rona church and declared that she was in fact the lost mother of god and to have time travelled and written the entire bible, and all spiritual texts, the mother of all spirituality gods and religion, Cybele. we bowed before her

@SixFootTallMidget Well, as a believer in Christ, i strongly lean towards that anyway... Its kinds like leprosy in a sense. Thank you for the information. ill keep it in mind
@creamiercorn As a believer in Christ, you can go fuck yourself. No really how many fucking thousands of years have to pass in order for you retards to understand that religion is a fucking scam ???? Your "Christ" is nothing more than an imaginary friend. Face it.
Drugs can in some people make the illness less edgy. But always with side effects. Many people including myself have not been helped at all with pharma drugs. I got very sick from the pharma drugs, my liver and kidneys were suffering. My urine was dark brown. I could not hike anymore and had no more energy. I knew it was from the drugs. My psychiatrists would not offer this explanation. I had to all find out on my own. I am drug free today because of Dr. Richard Schulze's herbal medicine.
@Trinexx360 I am not a troll. I write about this because I care. I am not paid by anyone and I reserve the right to refer others to those products which do help.
Granted those medicines the doctors issue don't really help, infact i'm convinced that the FDA and FFA are nothing but a big scam. If they wanted, they could cure it, but don't because there's no profit in it. If they cure it, nobody will buy the meds anymore. It doesn't really take a genius to figure out that all they care about is money.
But if you have something against me hating vegan's please try and explain your position.
@Trinexx360 Thank you for saying that. I totally agree with you. Its all about making money and the public is made to believe that they somehow care about them. Regarding vegan, I never mentioned vegan.
@CTOMIA Only myself. Had enough experience to know that theres no way to fix it. there are only remedies and treatments. Once you've got it, You're kinda stuck. All hope is in wishing for a miracle.
@CTOMIA Only myself. Had enough experience to know that theres no way to fix it. there are only remedies and treatments. Once you've got it, You're kinda stuck. All hope is in wishing for a miracle.
I dont believe half of you understand.. theres no feeling safe. Theres no way to feel safe. Theres no relaxing. Theres no way to calm down. Until you go get help from a psychiatrist and meds, you're fucked.. Im not even sure meds would help. Talking to someone sure doesnt.. Its hell.. Pure hell.. Wouldnt wish it upon my worst enemy.. Theres no escape.. Theres only treatments to keep symptoms away.. It will always be apart of you though..
im not a sczizo, but im AFRAID,AFRAID and AFRAID, like:what if i did/say this or that wrong, on now whats gonna happen, what r they gonna think of me,talk bout me,what if i lose, what if they take advantage of me. I cannot stop relivin my past, my childhood...the older i grow the more afraid i get:(
@Imyourcounciousness It sounds to me like you have a lot of anxiety and are overly concerned about how others see you. You might benefit by talking this over with a counselor or a good friend who you have a trusting relationship with. There are drugs that can help with anxiety, but the underlying problem will still be there unless it is dealt with. I'm sending good thoughts in your direction.
She doesn't need meds or a psychiatrist, she needs to feel safe and be treated how everyone deserves to be treated. You sure as hell don't need an ignorent doctor to tell you otherwise aswell, I see it as a form of bullying aswell.. to tell someone they have a psycho disorder which sounds so nasty and to pretend you know what it's like or how to treat it. No wonder so many don't recover from it.. we have morons running the show.
Bullies are assholes we all know that and they don't know the actual damage they can cause to others, not feeling safe in the world.. well if you are paranoid everywhere you go then it's going to cause you mental issues in itself. Anger coming out. where else is it supposed to fucking go? she's angry that she has to put up with shit, every1 has self esteem issue.
@asisorfree Where'd you get the idea that bullies "don't know the actual damage they can cause to others"? Malice is part of the definition of bullying. The bullies in my life, whether in the workplace or in school, most definitely intended to cause me harm.
@ReligiousZombie They know that they are causing physical harm but they aren't mature or knowledgable enough of psychological damage, kids don't even know what that means. Adults that bully use words to bother you and it's up to you whether they harm you or not so the main issue we're talking about here is kids.. that's where I got it from.
@bixtch Try to relax. Listen to some reague music. Go to the beach. Try to create an alterego wich is not afraid or even scared. If as yourself you feel bad, try to be another else. When the times comes by, you will defeat that shit.
Sounds like she has depression I would know because i was born with th most severe schizophrenia she is lucky to just a little mild case of it , parts of my childhood where just imaginary and torturous
Her feeling better may have been due to her desire for their to be a cure. The Psychiatrist offered a category for her to fit into, just like every other social institution does.

I wouldent call it an illness. It is created by the false assumption that there is a prototypical person or that there is normality in our brain
9Iamthewalrus 2 months ago
@9Iamthewalrus She was having auditory hallucinations. YOU may call that whatever the hell you want, but it's pretty upsetting and crippling and terrifying to the person who is having them. The medications are not perfect, and they have side effects, but they DO dissolve the hallucinations and calm the mind of the terrified person. Even to the point where they can be happy and productive. Stick to whatever you might know about. And see if you can define 'illness'... doctor..
108vasudeva 1 month ago
@108vasudeva guess what, the hallusinations are real for her. its her reality. who are you to say whats real or not, things that are real to you arent real to her and visa versa. most anxiety that comes from scitzofrenia is the thought that there is something wrong with you, not in this case but often. we dont share a common reality, my reality is different from yours and hers. we all have our dimentions. and illness is a diviation from a functioning bodyin the form of contamination

you want to know how does it feel to be shizo? take too much magic mushrooms or LSD. no matter how logical and feet-on-the-ground are you, you will literally go insane for about 3-4 hours. it does not mean mean beeing aggresive (you MAY be tho).

I think it is important for science and human kind to make research on my brain and find out how this works.

Trinexx360 3 months ago
@Trinexx360 Thank you for saying that. I totally agree with you. Its all about making money and the public is made to believe that they somehow care about them. Regarding vegan, I never mentioned vegan.

No wonder so many don't recover from it.. we have morons running the show.
asisorfree 5 months ago
1. Problems dealing with being bullied
2. Didn't feel safe in the world
3. Anger not being able to hold inside
4. self esteem issues
Bullies are assholes we all know that and they don't know the actual damage they can cause to others, not feeling safe in the world.. well if you are paranoid everywhere you go then it's going to cause you mental issues in itself. Anger coming out. where else is it supposed to fucking go? she's angry that she has to put up with shit, every1 has self esteem issue.
asisorfree 5 months ago
@asisorfree Where'd you get the idea that bullies "don't know the actual damage they can cause to others"? Malice is part of the definition of bullying. The bullies in my life, whether in the workplace or in school, most definitely intended to cause me harm.
ReligiousZombie 4 months ago
@ReligiousZombie They know that they are causing physical harm but they aren't mature or knowledgable enough of psychological damage, kids don't even know what that means. Adults that bully use words to bother you and it's up to you whether they harm you or not so the main issue we're talking about here is kids.. that's where I got it from.
