Shihtzus are some of the best dogs for children.  They're living furballs (which all children love...and some adults like me), and they may not look it, but they're sturdy enough to handle a little bit of roughhousing from older children. And they can be grumpy sometimes, but I've never ever seen a shihtzu bite a kid (and I've had 4 shihtzus)

My Border Collie was born in June and I was born in November the same year. I wish my parents took videos and pictures of us two together. Missing out some precious memories, fortunately your baby will be able to see how bonded the two of them were from the start.

dun listen to teh people that say dun leave your baby alone with a dog-- though depending on breed and what not can be fine. Hell, Even when i was a baby- my mom left me alone with my dog and i would pull on hes FACE and he didnt do anything O_O
