I have Hot Pursuit for PC and perhaps you need to advance more in your career mode to unlock the cars. I did that and after a few levels I unlocked them.

@IHATEJ00 usually...yes...the tuning is great! especially in NFS prostreet...but in Hot Pursuit...its like GT5...you just slap on some paint and go driving...some people like it that way..others don't...if you like tuning...i would by NFS carbon and NFS prostreet...but for gameplay...get Hot Pursuit :D

Every need for speed game has had manual control, so why not this one? It`s supposed to be like the original, but better. My m8s and I played for days on manual- it`s all we play on. Taking away manual control is not better. This is the ultimate dumbing down.

It should be optional, yes.

I usually drive manual in games whenever possible. It's a lot more challenging and it makes the game interesting by giving it just that much more of human control.

It could be that the game was made my Criterion, who also made Burnout, where manual shift wasn't an option either. But it was still awesomely fun.

Though, when you used the term "actually drive," it sounded like you were comparing a video game to real life.
