  • man !where can i find Andy's stuff to learn them !!! ???

  • I thought I was about to hear an Iron Maiden cover.

  • @meshuggah220 This is better!

  • Come on guys, ONE MILLION HITS FOR ANDY JAMES!

  • are the tabs actually accurate??

  • @musicaws2 Yes, 99.9% accurate.

  • After watching 3:16-4:08 i that his wife girlfriends must have loved him lol

    "_"

  • ima learn dis shit sooner or later lol

  • it's weird that the promoted video in the side bare is "A Weird Trick For Baldness".

Your awesome Andy I aspire to play more like you every day.

  • this guy is good but he needs to control his pinky better. it flops all over the place.

  • @TheConnord12 who are you to critique a guitarist of this level? he clearly can play amazingly and he can do this live, his technique is obviously perfect for the way he plays so you're wrong.

  • @musicaws2 who am i? im a classical guitarist and shred metal player who has been playing for 19 years now. his technique is not perfect, he just knows enough about guitar and music up to the point where he is able to muscle his way through even with a bad technique. if he trained his pinky to stay closer to the fretboard then chances are he could play ten times the way he is now, regardless of how great he is now.

  • @TheConnord12 I didn't say his technique was perfect in general I said for his play style, he rapes the guitar and I don't think there's much more he could do for speed now so even if he "controls" his pinky more it wouldn't matter, he clearly plays fine and just because you think you know what the "correct" form is doesn't mean it applies to everyone, if I played like him at my level I'd be open for criticism, but someone like him who'd trash you any day, I'd just laugh at you

  • @musicaws2 i said what i had to say and made my point. im not arguing with you over the internet. nice try.

  • @TheConnord12 your "point" was opinionated so "nice try" have fun being a "classical guitar metal shredder" haha keep that pinky where it "should be"

  • @musicaws2 i will. have fun being a perpetually skinny teenaged shitty guitar player and 80's garbage metal metallica faggot.

  • @TheConnord12 I'd rather be skinny than chubby and play something that's fun than some boring ass classical music that's been dead for years and only old people listen to, bye bye reject, go play with your pussy little snake

  • @musicaws2 awwwwww did da baby get a boo boo? :((((((

  • love the annotations

  • Great skills and all but you lose my respect because of how pretentious you are lol

  • @AMartins92 Who, me? This is Andy. My songs are all MP3 format.

  • @AMartins92 dude wtf you dont know Andy James? WTF!!

  • @AMartins92 Pretentious? Dude you should check Andy on lick library. He's one of the most down to earth tutors/shredders/ gents ever to grace the guitar. Failing that just type in either "sacred mother tongue" or "metalcore shred" and see him blast facemelting guitar any time bro

  • @skatedaz123 Thanks man I'll check it out sometime... it's just the captions he posted on this video haha... if it was the actual guitarist that edited this then I'll say urgh!

  • The KING of alternate picking !!! :)

  • And to the argument about chords... every guitar player since the dawn of time has used chords... get over it. I couldn't imagine metal without chords. But gay bands like fall out boy who use nothing but chords are faggot posers, so many untalented bands that are famous. And there's no such thing as a talented rapper, they all suck, rap sucks period

  • @bnino1216 Almost anything sucks compared to AJ.

  • Sounds good, but until he takes that wrist band off he doesn't get my respect

  • @bnino1216 The wristband doesn't do anything. It removes excess noise, but it also makes the guitar strings a lot more rigid, hard to play, AND hard to bend. Andy is a great guitarist, the hairband doesn't mean a thing or affect his playing skills or sound in virtually any way.

  • andy james is a perfect machine of solos!!!!!(and yes!... he is a robot)

  • @allardmitchell Shred robot from space.

  • Dude that was very nice lissining to

  • does anyone kno how to play the part before the run down the neck after the bridge cuz its really cool but not in the tab

  • he's an awesome guitarist this but i dont like his guitar tone. so what do you think guys ??

  • Amazing !

  • This is the most beautiful songs ive ever heard

  • well let me just collect the little bits of my face that are everywhere

  • Fuck. Me. Sidewards........

  • there should be a rule against shredding this much on a guitar :OO

  • =O

  • Which means aliens should even be watchin it

  • Why has this video only got 4,618 views..

It should have 4618 billion more than that

  • I play this in my sleep. This is my bedtime lullaby.

    Facemelting achieved.

  • Can't stop watching this video.. every time I watch I'm just as amazed at his playing as i was the first time I saw this. Andy James is a GOD!

  • I LOVE THIS

  • mmmmmmmmmm

  • it kind of reminds me of John Petrucci

  • @mrniko13dk Yeah, Andy is heavily influenced by Petrucci.

  • @mrniko13dk Hence the JP Sig guitar and the crazy arpeggios he does. :)

  • @mrniko13dk I think Andy's way better

  • @mrniko13dk on the DVD he says he wrote this in a John Petrucci style

  • solos were cool ,, chords put me to sleep . cool upload

  • @NINJATRONdnb

The whole composition were solos..And yeah, these guitarists completely ignore chords which truly defines a guitarist, because a song comprised exclusively of scales get boring after awhile.

  • @dunmer2007 Metal players rarely use chords.

  • @thegodphreaker

I understand where you're coming from, however..

Rush, Led Zepplin, AC/DC, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, The entire instrumental from Death Angel's "The ultra violence", Slayer, Metalica, And so on, and so on, used chords.

But you are partially right about Metal players, Ynwie, Satriani, Vai, Steve Howe, Petrucci (Italians Rule metal) are all soloists and even they have to make their own backing tracks..So I do stand by the opinion that without chords there would be no song.

  • @dunmer2007 There are no chords in this track, besides the bridge chords, which are just powerchords and octave chords. The backing track is just 3 chords, the chords in the same key of the shred scales. This song would be just as good without the backing track.

  • @thegodphreaker

I have been getting into old school rock, Ragtime, Swing, a lot of Tommy Emanuel and Brian Setzer as well, so I'm pretty much stuck on chords. I do respect Andy's technique and his style but the shredding just doesn't grab me like it used to 20 yrs ago.(Yeah, I'm past the age of 30!, we all get there sooner or later!) Plus I've been working on my own style of frantic chord changes mixed with a rythmic alt-pickin' style I've been developing since the late '90's..

  • Respond to this video...

BTW: I'm listening to your tracks "Prisoners of Chaos" And "The Demon Immortal" Pretty impressive two-man production!

  • @thegodphreaker there are dude, the clean chords just before what I presume is called the chorus.

  • @pipandrew Those are power chords and octave chords. AKA 2-note chords. Not full chords.

  • @thegodphreaker I dunno dude, you could be right but I'm not convinced

  • @thegodphreaker A chord can be just 2 notes, a triad requires three... It's called a 5th and and 8th

  • oh right, some channel claiming to be his official posted it as Ikarus, but right at the start of this it says Icarus. I'm gonna believe his dvd tbh

  • @pipandrew Yeah, On the album it's actually "Ikarus" but I think he spelled it wrong and didn't notice it.

  • Awesome playing and tone!!!!!

  • hey dude, its called "Flight of Ikarus" not Icarus

  • @pipandrew Naw, dude.

    en.wikipedia./wiki/Icarus

  • amazing!

  • dude i don't think this is from his second album ???

i have da ful 2nd album .. not one of da trax !!

  • @alokhimora Nope. This is a bonus track from Andy's In the Wake of Chaos. The last song on the record.

  • The tabs are awesome man, thanks a lot! I've been wanting to learn this for a while, and I'm glad someone (other than me) had to take the time to tab it out. Really appreciate it - you must be pretty awesome to be able to play this!

  • @klummster88 Thanks! I had to do more than half of it by ear because I lost most of the files from the DVD. I hit replay like 10,000 times, lol.

  • Sweet tab. Thanks!

  • Tabs r up!

  • You must be pretty good to be able to play this song nice! But no i dont bro i am getting GuitarPro soon though.

  • tabbbssss pleaaaasseee!!! o.o awesomeee!!!

  • @AllShallStand Yep, I'm making a Guitar Pro tab right now.

  • very nice sound!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Hey thegodphreaker, mind if I get the tabs aswell please? I've been really wanting to to learn this song for a long time but I dont have a credit card to buy his CD, which i would buy as soon as i get one next year. My email is "emastermind@comcast.net" by the way. Thanks in advance man.

  • @0xxTheMessiahxx0 Sure, this is an awesome song to play. It's a workout! You got Guitar Pro?

  • @0xxTheMessiahxx0 Tab is up now. Good luck, brother!

  • @thegodphreaker Omg man i just took a look at this tab, and i got to say this is single-handedly the best organized tab I've ever seen! It even includes down/up strokes thats amazing. Thankss man! You're the best! I will need the luck haha. Take care bro, again thanks so much.

  • @0xxTheMessiahxx0 Yeah. Andy does some different types of picking techniques, so I thought I'd throw them in there. Thanks brother!

  • @thegodphreaker I can tell they are quite difficult haha. One question, if i buy this CD will i get the backing track along with it? Or can i just buy the backing track seperately on LickLibrary...Im going to go check lol.

  • @0xxTheMessiahxx0 The backing track comes with the DVD.

  • do you have tabs for this?if you do could you send them to me:-)

  • @hspartin Yeah, sure. What's your e-mail?
