I'm the XO for the 2013 FDT. the corps isn't for everyone, but if you have to right, refuse-to-quit mindset, and a positive outlook, I guarentee you'll be a better person. I look forward to my years as a cadet and as an Aggie. A-A-A-A-A!!

This type of obedient mindlessness - only which indoctrination and brainwashing can produce - scares me. It reminds me too much of god-religions (such as death cults) and the military
you mean an organization that your in for a short time make a ton of friends all while getting a college degree and learning a hell of a lot about your self and what you can accomplished when pushed... your right that sounds terrible
@NEUROTICToThaBONE actually it does, ever since I was very young, this automated behavior always scared me, I thought that the humans were zombies- half dead somehow being controlled, I couldn't understand why they were not being independent, acting like everyone else, and doing what they pleased. obviously I know now the real reason why humans subject themselves to these kinds of group activities, because they are insecure and they are starving for the security found in group solidarity
@slovakmath They act like everyone else 99% of their day, but when it comes down these drills they think as one. It does involve individual thought, and a lot of it. To think otherwise is extremely..ignorant, we do not all have the ability to jump out there and be "somehow controlled" by anything but ourselves. It takes training, and hard practice to get your individual steps and movements down to be able to match the correct order of things. They're not mindless.
@NEUROTICToThaBONE Just like you have to study for a test to match the teacher's requirements, these guys practice to meet military like requirements. Taking tests must be very difficult for you since you can't just put down whatever answers you want - and be a "free thinker", if that's what you consider free thinking. Everyone is involved in some sort of task that requires them to meet STANDARDIZED and regulated requirements such as this, so get over your little fear and learn to live.
