  • thanks for watching

  • Right like so...thanks buddy!

  • I used a 5 oz. glass. Martini glasses come in many different sizes. To make a double Martini double the measurements and be sure you use a very big glass.

  • Thanks for the videos! Had a couple of questions: What size martini glass are you using, and what is a double martini? I thought it meant literally twice the martini, but it wouldn't fit into a normal glass.

  • Thanks for your comments. We always want to know what other people who are interested in cocktails think and appreciate your comments.

  • My Vodka preference? FINLANDIA! I can only imagine that Grey Goose is over-hyped and therefore over-priced, i.e. VO Canadian Rye vis a vis Canadian Crown Royal (over-hyped ergo over-priced, but better? Not really.) Decent Canadian Vodka - Polar Ice but remember every-body KEEP YOUR VODKA IN THE FREEZER! ALWAYS!

  • Vermouth can come from any country that produces wine.

  • @jtiano Yeah BUT the MARTINI came from the name of the Vermouth, and that would be nothing but MARTINI AND ROSSI's Vermouth. Logic. I know that i wasn't THERE when IT happened but from a former professional service bar bartender from LONDON that's my opinion. I don't make Martinis with anything else. You want to use Gallo?

You want Noilly Prat? You're payin' the bill, bud', so your tastes are the ones that count.

  • @hasablad69 There are many different stories about where the name martini came from. I do agree that in certain countries in Europe that one has to be careful when ordering a martini because they may get the a glass of Martini and Rossi Vermouth instead of a martini made with gin or vodka. Thanks for you comments.

  • Yeah, some vermouth's come from Europe... Baring in mind that the beverage comes from italy and france I'd say so ;)

  • Thanks for your comments. What does the pollution in Modesto have to do with the Martini?

  • Worst Vermouth on the market made in modesto california one of the most polluted cities in USA

  • in soviet russia VODKA DRINKS YOU!

  • @lazerdemon127 When I visited Russia it did seem that vodka was very popular.

  • "right like so"

  • Always ask the customer what type of martini they want gin or vodka. You can also ask if they want a premium gin or vodka. Premium are more expensive, and it's advisable to ask.

  • I got a question when somebody asks you for a martini do you serve them gin or vodka from the speed rack automatically or do they always get the more expensive gin or vodka? I am having trouble when to appropriately use the speed rack liquor and the premium liquor.

  • Well said.

  • "Apple" "Chocolate", NONSENSE!

The ONLY word that should prefix "Martini" is "Double".

  • Screw this !!!!! You wanna some real thing ? Drink the Vodka just straight up. This is rich people crap.

  • @estesoyojajaja Hell yeah...just set up the shots and knock 'em back!! >8)

  • @estesoyojajaja Hell yeah...just set up the shots and knock 'em back!! >8)

  • @estesoyojajaja Hell yeah...just set up the shots and knock 'em back!!

  • Herbs lol

  • One of the best

  • @jtiano Screw this !!!!! You wanna some real thing ? Drink the Vodka just straight up. This is rich people crap.

  • worst vodka on the market

  • I have to show my friend this recipe. He'll love it.

  • It's a matter personal choice. Thanks for your comments.

  • this isnt perfect its supposed to be shaken, not stirred

  • Sounds great!

  • Ok, here's the deal:

Fill a shaker with ice pour in vermouth. About a shot's worth, it is up to your taste. Shake it until your hand feels like it's freezing. Strain out the vermouth, leave the ice. Now add the amount of vodka you want. Shake some more. Pour into a cold martini glass. Garnish with whatever--i like marinated mushrooms. Best drink ever.

  • Vodka martini, shaken not stirred.

  • The title and recipe is to show people how to make a great vodka martini. I have never heard of the recipe a perfect martini using both types of vermouth. There is a perfect Manhattan that uses both, and that's a whiskey based cocktail. I doubt very few people would enjoy a vodka martini that uses both dry and sweet vermouth.

  • A perfect martini should have half sweet and half dry vermouth in it. I understand this guys given up his time to make these videos but whats the point if like 90% of them are wrong??

  • Nice talk! Are you really sober?

  • Is the dude drunk?

  • This is not a vodka-martini, this is a vodka-gallo.

  • What's a vodka a vodka-gallo

  • Grey Goose sux, try Kettle One. Great flavor, smooth with just the right bite. Pour a little on the rocks you'll see what I mean. Really though gin should be used in a martini!!

  • Hmm... what does Vodka have to do with Martini's?

  • I agree.

  • Check out our review of various gins!

  • HER-BSSSS

  • nice try Russians and Pols...smirnoff wins a lot of taste tests and matches a lot of our wallets.

  • Russian Vodka sucks...Go Polish!

  • right like so

  • vodka martini must be shaken !!!!! very important for the two drinks to mix together perfectlly

  • Mr.Bond won't like this.... He likes his vodka martini shaken not stirred

  • Sloppy!!!!

  • @jtiano does a shaken vodka martini taste any different than a stirred vodka martini?

  • very little, it's all about style

  • Maybe in the next video you can show the proper way to make ICE

  • @XxBrutalSamxX Put water in any container, and put it in the freezer

  • @ScandinaviansAreCool If only GOOD ice was that easy.

  • I've seen NEON color drinks

can you give me some brands of NEON color?

  • shaken not stirred ;)

  • i want is shaken not stird

  • What is your oppinion about Russian Standard vodka (Руский Стандарт)?Is vodka Finlandia better>? Im frm Bulgaria (Europe) so id appreciate some advice on good vodka for about 7-15 Euro :) (in BG things are kinda cheaper)

  • Let your nose and your taste be your guide. Vodka is similar to wine or beer in that it depends on what the person that drinks prefers. In recent blind tasting test with professional testers the least expensive vodka was judged to be the best tasting.

  • I"m usually using absolute, citron and malibu vodka but someone says I should try grey goose. I never try it yet , I just wna ask if it is good?

  • It's all a matter of personal taste.

  • I prefer to use Belvedere vokda in my cocktails, especially cosmo's as their flavours are naturally macerated.

  • Good choice, thanks for your comments

  • hey look its russian water

  • shaken, not stirred.

  • he looks like jim Carrey`s FIRE MARSHALL BILL hahahahahahahahhahahahahhhahahahahhaahahahahahahahahaha

  • in soviet russia, martini drink you

  • I think Pravda vodka is the smoothest vodka there is out there at the moment.

  • The best vodka there is is the Grey Goose or the Stolichnaya... screw Smirnoff,

  • @xStrigoi stolichnaya elit might be better. also czar's gold, reyka or russian standard

  • The name is vodka martini and he didn't use MARTINI???he used GALLO(????)(WTF),and for vodka he used smirnoff (???) (WTF2) one of the orrible commercial vodka, you must use grey goose or belvedere or beluga!you have to wash the ice with martini and not put inside with vodka!!!

  • @Elmanfre Gallo is the brand of the dry vermouth. Smirnoff was the brand of vodka.

A martini consists of dry vermouth and vodka - so i don't see what your concern is?

He is making a WET martini, so he doesn't have to empty the vermouth. What you are attempting to describe is a DRY martini. Also, you can use any vodka, the choice is your's, obviously a greygoose vodka martini would be more expensive, but it doesn't make it more of a martini. You need to do some research boy

  • @AK410 Elmanfre was referring to Martini & Rossi vermouth.

Also, this is not a "wet" martini. In fact, it's not even a martini. A martini is always made with gin. Period. This is called a kangaroo kicker.

In The Savoy Cocktail Book (c. 1930) Harry Craddock describes a dry martini as "1/3 French Vermouth, 2/3 Dry Gin." The current pussification of martinis has led to the inclusion of decreasing amounts of vermouth, because most bars stock bad (or oxidized) vermouth.

  • I like my martini with 30% of vermouth and 70% of vodka =)

and olives!!!! way better than lemon peel...

  • This video makes me sad. So many things. I mean a jigger? So sad

  • This guy has no finesse

  • I like the way he drops the things under the bar 2:25 - 2:28

  • mmm Absolut

  • Schmirnof's?

  • This is a dry martini, a perfect martini needs sweet vermouth...

  • Shaken, not stirred!!

  • @Skip44 A Martini should always be stirred. Shaking come into play when adding juice.

  • Did that guy just say Smirnoff was good Vodka? lulz

  • Sorry, shaken, not stirred please :D.

Thanks! i'm very interested in these cocktails

  • am I the only person that imagines this guy should have a pony tail? i do know why, i just think he should

  • Thanks. very explicit it was helpfull

  • this is a dry martini not a perfect martini

  • very great channel

  • this guy looks pissed lol.. girls drink this men drink lager (beer) lol

  • no is a drink that usually is ordered by men.

  • Is this typically a "girly" drink? Or a unisex drink? Dumb question, but I see a lot of bias drinkers out there

  • ive always thought of it as unisex but it does ome off as slightly manly because of movies like james bond

  • I think buster was alluding to the fact that a martini (perfect) contains equal measure of sweet and dry vermouth, whereas in this recipe, the bartender is making a martini (dry). The title is actually suggesting that the recipe is perfect, not that it was a recipe for the martini (perfect); buster misunderstood, as I did originally.

  • Smirnoff is bad vodka! I'm say it, man from Russia

  • Ye, Gorzka Żołądkowa De luxe from Poland rox!

  • What about Parliament? Tell us a bit 'bout russian vodka!

  • @zyatkoff Actually believe it or not Smirnoff wins best tasting Vodka award year after year. I personally don't like the taste of Smirnoff, however when making a cocktail you cant taste the difference.

  • @wedderburn1986 that is not true! of course you can taste a huge difference. you cannot taste it in a super fruity cocktail, but in a martini can't use cheap vodka like smirnoff

  • @zyatkoff tru story

  • @zyatkoff what would you say it's a good vodka mate?? Im from brazil, and we don't have a whole bunch of varieties in here...

  • @zyatkoff

    i'm say it too man

  • @zyatkoff its not bad, its better than all serbian vodka xD

  • And if we want it shaken not stirred, how do we do ? =)

  • @Dkad

If you want it shaken then your stuffing it up... it becomes a different drink then.

Oh and at the program... please dear god be more gentle on the ice... stirring a martini is a gentle thing not the thrashing you gave it.

  • Finally my kind of martini....skip the olive just a lemon twist will be fine

  • smirnoff red was recently listed as one of the worst quality vodkas - i would not want it in a martini

  • Three measures of Gordon's; one of vodka; half a measure of Kina Lillet. Shake it over ice, and add a thin slice of lemon peel.

  • i'd like those little onions on mine

  • Don´t stir it - Shake it!

  • Dude! Haven't you heard the most important part of it... The famous "Shaken not Stirred"? Please, do not ever serve a Vodka martini stirred!!!

  • lol shmirrrrrrrnofff. Good recipe though.

  • how do you wanna teach a vodka martini if you don't use MARTINI!!! MADE IN ITALY!!

  • "you can use any vodka" ...

    Really?

How about Popov or Five O'Clock?

  • haha schmirnof lol

    lol glass mixing cup lol

youre a lil awkward arent you dude

    alrite recepie though

    better use gin though

  • Gin instead of vodka?

Sorry, i'm just learning about Martinis for the first time.....

  • ok now show how to shake it not stirred

  • This is how Xenia Onnatop has her's.

  • zee earl floats on top of the drink, like so.

  • 18/F/Texas. hrmMMmmm. someone msg me im bored!! v

  • what's the difference between shaking and stirring??

  • The very first martini I ever made was with sweet vermouth. Try to imagine how aweful that drink tasted.

  • smirnoff is a verry good vodka ROTFL! Belvedere, Wyborowa, Luksusowa, Chopin ...

  • Good steps to make dry martini.

    Thanks...

  • Very good steps to make dry martini, thanks you help a lot.

I'm a bartender from borneo, land of the head hunter!!

  • shaken, not stirred :D lol james bond ftw

  • Has vodka only been available in the U.S. since 1950 ? I didn't know that.

  • smirrnoff or white goose ppl?

  • smirnoff ftw

  • Disgusting

    drink REAL vodka, like Stolichnaya

  • Smirrnoff of course!

  • Imperia!

  • Belvedere!

  • lol, use absolut, or russian standard....greatest martini i've had

  • smirnoff is quite a bad russian vodka, furthermore its made in england

    use white goose

  • Grey Goose of course ! Not White Goose. It's the best Vodka in the world. It is french, but it creates such a difference. And of course, you must use Lillet Blanc.... Not Vermouth! This guy is an amateur!

  • you mean grey goose? lrn2goose

  • your susposed to add Olives

  • you don't have to, normally olives are only used for dirty martini's

  • Thats the cleche thing to do. There is quite a few things you can put in it

I personally love lemon twists in my martinis

  • lol schmirnof

  • martini blanco, is vermouth.

  • Martini Bianco is a vermouth, though not the one recommended to make vodka martini's. Martini has an other variety called 'extra dry', which is more suitable. Of course you can use other brands for your vermouth, for example Noilly Prat.

But certainly not martini bianco, it makes the drink too sweet.

  • Craving one right now!!!!!

  • The original martini was gin with vermouth but the vodka martini just replaced the gin with vodka. That's what I heard

  • Mr Bartender

Very Good Way to make a Dry Martini.

    Thanks

Federico I'm a bartender from Argentina

  • well its harder to tell when people type it

  • three measures of Gordon's; one of vodka; half a measure of Kina Lillet. Shake it over ice, and add a thin slice of lemon peel.

  • ha, if you can tell me what that means you get a prize.

  • It called a Vesper. Ordered in Casino Royale by Bond

  • They don't make Kina Lillet anymore

  • unfortunatly the bartender will have NO clue what you mean; Gordon is a U.K. gin and Kina Lillet hasnt even been in production since 1985. Use Lillet Blanc instead and to recreate the original bitter flavor of Kina Lillet, add a dash or two of Angostura bitters or a pinch of Quinine powder. Stoli is also a reccomended vodka since the 100 proof was the common amount back in the 50s and in the books James Bond favored Stoli. bdw Gordon is under 80 proof while Tanqueray and others are around 94

  • I thought you did a nice job.I love the 3 olive Martini my husband makes. I am a purist so I will only drink Perfect1864 Vodka in my Perfect Martini.

  • The title shouldn't be "perfect vodka martini"

he made a vodka martini not a perfect martini wich would have a dash of sweet and dry vermouth...

  • I found that Svedka Vodka is better yet cheaper than Absolute

  • Not so.

  • doesn't the perfect vodka martini have a dash of both sweet AND dry vermouth?

  • Problems do arise when using the word "perfect" when talking about a martini because it is both in reference to the drink being "perfect" in taste, and also to a martini using both sweet and dry vermouth. The way I distinguish between the two is to look at where the term "perfect" is located in relation to the name of the drink. For instance if they say a "perfect vodka martini," I know they mean the first instance, if they say "vodka martini perfect," I know they are talking about the latter.

  • Perfect! I personally prefer shaken not stirred but the result is the same. Good instructive video.

  • isnt there an olive involved?

  • On the topic of vermouth, if I do use it, I'll put a few drops into the chilled glass, swish it around, and dump it out. That's if I don't have a mister available. Same goes for gin martinis, manhattans, etc.

  • It all depends on the customer and how 'dry' they want it. As for a manhattan, I don't know of any manhattan recipes that call for as little vermouth as a martini does.

  • stop saying he isnt good or shit

show me how to do it right than

    less talk more action bitches!

  • This is one of the shittiest bartenders I have ever seen. No one uses vermouth anymore...the ingredients in his other videos are not right either. This guy is a total jackass with no right to be behind a bar.

  • You must be a jackass yourself if you think "no one uses vermouth anymore". What planet are you on?

  • What I said.

  • what?? So how would you make it then, 'jackass'?

  • Indeed. So a vodka-gin martini, which shaken as he requested watered down the drink and bruised the flavor of the gin still weakening it. The drink was also made in a deep champagne goblet instead of a classic cocktail/martini glass.

  • He's both a professional and a teacher, unlike other

pretenders to the trade that make themselves painfully

apparent every time that they open their mouths.

  • Get over yourself. He's just mixing a drink. Shit, this isn't 'Cocktail'. And drinks from places like that suck anyway...too many bartenders want us to think they're artists.

  • Cool. Always wanted to know how to make this since i sae it in James bond movies

  • Interesting note on James Bond: In the early movies and books he ordered what was apparently a gin martini and only later ordered vodka martinis. What's funny is that you shouldn't shake a gin martini because it bruises the flavor of the gin and makes a weak drink because it also causes the ice to chip, this watering down the drink. So, in other words, he orders a weak drink and is snooty about it, lol.

  • I found that if you first shake the ice alone, you can bust it up a bit without bruising the gin and you'll also get some little glaciers floating on top of your gin. It doesnt seem to weaken it at all. It sucks that most bartenders are only good at shooting coke into a glass with a shot of Crown... then again I am in Texas.

  • It's not snooty cos there is no right way - everyone has their own preference on how to make it. What makes a great bartender is to be able to make a drink as close to what the customer wants. If they want it shaken, they get it shaken. If they want to mix Henessey Paradis with coke, on the other hand, they deserve to get run over when you chase them out of the bar.
