Actually he's far from a countertenor (even soprano). I've listened to him and his voice is not well controlled, too much vibrato going tremolo. But having too much high-quality voice training he can hit the point.

There are quite a few counter-tenors and male sopranoes of global reknown. Look for Philippe Jarrousky, Radu Marian, Javier Medina, Terry Wey, Yoshikazu Maru, Max Emmanuel Cencic, Paul esswood, Brian assawa, Vitas, Andreas Scholl, Dominique Visse.

This sound is perhaps a bit of an acquired taste but well worth it in my opinion.

This guy has an amazing talent. Like the host said, most men in the past who have been able to sing that high have been enuchs. It almost defies explanation. Sarah Brightman, ironically, who he said he'd love to sing with, is who Jackie Evancho sang with in the finale of America's Got Talent this year. And Jackie has also sung the same song on AGT that Greg auditioned with on BGT... Jackie sings the same notes and she's a 10-year-old girl.
