  • That was brilliant!! Thanks , i so loved this poem!!

    Regards from Yazeed Waleed

  • okayy sooo for the person who made this video i still am confused with this poem like why did he kill her and what is the poem really about?

  • @Chelle22208 I didn't make this vid but I've done my own research. But what is most agreed upon in debates is that Porphyria's Lover (the character) goes un-named because the audience now is able to understand a rationalization of a criminally insane mind. As to why he killed her, in his madness he solidifies their happiness forever by preserving this happiest moment that they have shared. Because she can't choose for herself between him or whatever sets them apart. You can Google it to see.

  • @Chelle22208 It could be a few things. One is the disease making a man hallucinate.

Here's the second. Browning wrote about the dark parts of humanity (like Poe) so it could be that the persona jealously wanted porphyria so after she confessed her love to him(reluctantly) he killed her so she would never say she loved another and so he would have her forever

  • @destructopoo

thanks for watchin porphyrias lover, sorry for the late reply as i have way. i think you have got it right.

  • excellent adaptation though. A powerful contemporary slant on Brownings classic tale of abnormal psychology. 5 Stars.

  • my name spelt wrong too. Thanks J.

  • why is the title misspelled here?

  • @jonnypk777 - porphyria's lover (which the title says) is correct
