What are you playing at 1.12? Can't find tabs that sounds right or find covers that i think sounds right except this, and i can't quite figure out what you're playing
i dont understand how you can do that rhythm man. ivebeen trying to play this for about an hour nonstop, ive almsot got the rhythm down, but i cant play it for long at all before it starts to hurt. a minte and a half tops
@cerebrallockdown only training helps there! my favourite rythm exercise is world painted blood by slayer, play that every day for a quarter of an hour, and your arm will hurt way less after about a month.
@FirePower3006 and i hate to say it but obscura isnt even .1% tech death in my opinion and i find them to be a little generic, but, that my opinion...
@ImaDjentleman Obscura not tech death? Generic? I think you are thinking of the wrong band, they are labeled as technical death and have some of the most complex riffs I have ever heard.
(This might be sacrilegious, but...) I like this version better than with Meshuggah. Of course they wrote it. I love this video. Just need to have it on my songlist.
Ola, how are you able to pick up so much pick attack in your recordings. I'm always searching for it but just can't nail it. Thanks in advance. Killer as always by the way!!
@D34n0Thund3r I don't know, I rather do just one cover from the bands that has been an influence over the years. But I have a Feared 8-string song coming up though.
Lucky bastard to life next to the 'shuggah dudes and testdrive the Studioequipment from Fear and Loathing! The DAR will fucking rule the metal world, is it going to be used on the next Meshuggah album also?
hey ola! iv been reading about the DAR amps future breed machines line and how you have been involved in the development, any chance you could give us a sneak peak of the amp that will be the result of it?
can you post a video of the 5150 using the RGA8? i have a 5150 coming up and will be using an RGA8 on it just want to hear how it would sound. love your stuff man!
@fearedse Those DAR amps sound massive without getting all "icy" in the demos I've seen so far. They even *look* good! I went totally modelling a while back so haven't really explored real amps much ;-)
Do you think the RGA sounds a nicer instrument than the RG2228? I can't stand Basswood bodies, so it's great to see Ibanez release a "Mahogany" bodied equivalent. I bet the cleans are a lot nicer....do the Rawdogs clean up well?
Any tips for practicing the picking pattern (besides obvs using a metronome)? For the main riff it's triplet-one-triplet-one-triplet-one-etc....right?
The best tone Meshuggah has was on the Nothing reissue and they used Line 6 Pod Pros, which I have seen for $120 used. And I just saw a used Vetta for $340... My point is you can get a better tone than this for 1/33rd the cost.

What kind of pick are you using to peddle the string so fast? I think these jazz picks are slowing me down
tyoung1979 1 month ago
@tyoung1979 Jazz picks are actually made for speed so if you can do this with say a dunlop jazz 3 you not be able to do it with a "big" pick.
