  • great cut and superior form!

  • Wow.. truely impressive blade.

  • clean cut!!!!

  • is this is a test i think they guy gets a A for form and the blade gets a A+ for quality

  • wow impressive! i HAVE collected from bushido swords to musashi katanas and iam impressed by this one what kind of blade is it?

  • Me...want...that...sword...mwahahahahaha...heh. Ahem.

  • I love Anthony DiCristofano's work, i wish i could afford one of his blades.

  • beautiful

  • holy.. SHIT! awesome blade, <_< this is AWESOME O_O; i want your edge <_<; hook me up please? 10* favoed

  • WOW! Great techinque, seems to be a very good sword too, when it cuts 5 mats this easily.

  • Ha! This was great. Everything my master tell us to do: never look away from the target, steady yet fluent movement. Great.

  • now those are beautiful cuts

  • Aaah! I had to favorite this!

  • Good cutting Randy! Best sword test on youtube.

  • Magnificent. The footwork is so stable, he looks like he's built into the ground itself. No wobble in the cuts, and eyes fixed straight ahead. He who moves least is most effective.

    True swordsmanship.

  • i love the hakuma and keikogi.... and great form!!!

  • Very impressive cutting. lol, it almost seemed as if Black Sensei wasn't anticipating how cleanly the sword was going to cut on the first attempt. I wouldn't be surprised if he could have cut a 6 or 7 mat target with that sword. Excellent work.

  • incredible!! that was a great demonstration.

  • this guy keeps the mat industry going.

    but,great skill

  • Thats a very good Katana!!!

  • Poetry in motion. Amazing.

  • Nicely done.

  • Good lord, that's amazing. Not a single rough yama on any of those cuts...

You know, that rediculously clean 5-mat cut gives me a whole new respect for Anthony's (already highly respected) blades. I needs me one.

  • Man. That was amazing.

  • THIS IS THE MOST BEST test cut I SEEN ON YOUTUBE AND I LOVE THE COLOR OF THE tsuka

  • I am proud and honored to have Sensei Black as my teacher. Sensei Black is probably the ONLY SME (subject matter expert) on this system in the United States.

  • Superb technique.

  • nice :)

  • Thats better than the "show off" people elsewhere on youtube. 5 stars for a 0 bs vid...for a change.

  • man he is strong - he's pushing the envelope too with what a katana can do - magnificent ! A lot of it is down to the blade by sukemitsu as well - the most traditionally forged katana outside of japan IMO

  • fantastic cutting prowess - it seems to become less of an effort as more rolls are added , thankyou

  • Very nice.

  • fast and light have been mastered in this case with such a sturdy stance a nice sharp katana helps in this case

  • Textbook.

  • Damn. That is one sharp katana.

  • damn. wish we could play back his movements overlapped. neither his stance nor his movements seemed to budge an inch. perfect!

  • Beautiful form, powerful cuts and a very mindful amazing to watch thank you.

  • Very strong cuts. This is more impressive than all the katana videos of people sloppily flailing around quickly trying to look cool. Incredible.

  • Bravo! Outstanding technique!

  • this guy looks so natural compared to others

  • Freakin' awesome! You have the best form of youtube!

    5 stars!

  • nice cuts and a clean movement form

  • nice skill, great cuts, you get the sweat spot on the blade every time.

  • Very consistant, powerful, clean cuts. Amazing video. I had the same reaction as the camera man by the time you finished with your last cut. Great job!

  • nice video

  • great googamooga that thing could cut a honda in half!

  • Beautiful form.

  • very consistent, powerful cuts. awesome.

  • nice cutting sir

  • funny, I said "God..." just as the camera man did. What katana is this? I've been finding it difficult to trust many modern katana manufacturers outside of Japan. Also, this is the best tameshigiri I've seen on this site so far. Not that youtube is that great a place to look at good martial arts, but your cuts looked wonderful.

  • The katana was made by Anthony DiCristofano www.namahagesword.com He is know for adhering to tradition. His research in the Japanese sword has sent him to many locations in Japan. He does very high end tamahagane blades and also some less expensive mono steel blades for martial artist.

  • Yep. That is the way we do it in Japan. Or sometimes, just bamboo. 5-6 inch bamboo. Suemonogiri... not in a stand, just placed on the ground or a table.
