Unfortunately the Air Force and the Navy denied me for medical reasons. It looks like the Army may still be a possibility though. I would love nothing more than to be a combat medic.
Being a crewchief working on these birds is pretty damn cool. Seeing these take off everyday is something else and when being the one who's launch them out make it even better!

Great vid! I was a door gunner with 4-101st at Bagram during OEF 08-10. Fun times! The only part that sucked was crashing in Nuristan Valley Oct 09. I also pulled aerial security for the Pave Hawk that went belly up near Kabul.
I'm taking the past next summer in a breeze it's easy. I want to exceed the standards. Also, you have to go through ROTC to be a pilot and have your Bachelors degree. Great video. Really pumps me up for what's coming my way.

@andrademeza Combat Resuse (aka Air Force Rescue) essentially encompasses 3 entities: PJ's (Pararescue), Jolly's or Pedro's (HH-60 Pave Hawks) and Kings (HC-130). They used to be all grouped under one Squadron or Group. Now they are organized into individual squadrons, but still work together to perform what you know as Combat Search & Rescue.
I don't support war or any type of politically or violent situation but when your in a hell hole, you thank god for these boys, keep it up, take care & god speed.
@RedPiper180 Well, just like xbtx1973 said, aside from enlisting in the Air Force, first, you have to take the ASVAB and do very well on it. The higher line scores you get, the more jobs are available to you. According to military.com, to qualify as a PJ, you need at least a score of 44 on the general subject, but I don't know how accurate that is. You also need to be physically fit, and MENTAL TOUGHNESS also might come in handy.
@RedPiper180 But keep in mind, just because you're able to meet the minimum score on the general subject and pass the physical, that doesn't mean the Air Force is just going give you the job. At the end of the day, the major deciding factor is the "availability" of the career field you want to get in. I would go ahead and visit the local recruiting office if I were you.
unfortunately, i loaded more of my Marines on those helicopters than I ever intended, but great video and they are a great medevac sourse. I am glad we had them out there with us

awesome video man great choice of song im a freshamn in high school and im training and getting physically fit cause im going to sign into the Air Force and do pararescue im so excitied and cant wait
@tobigforyou I believe so, I was down at their home base (Moffett Federal Air Field, CA) last year during a educational day there sponsored by NASA I think, anyways, I remember their Blackhawks being like so, and one of the Sergeants there mentioned they had Browning M2 .50 caliber MGs on them. And I believe that they are the 129th RQW but if you also look at one of the links, one of the crew have a Oakland Raiders patch on their chest.
@Spartan0189 The 129 RQS was the lead unit on this deployment. The PJ's were from the 38 RQS at Moody AFB and several aircrew members were from just about every other rescue unit.
@Spartan0189 True that...we had Pj's from Moody and aircrews from Moffett, Nellis, Moody and Kadena. 129 RQS supplied the command and support staff and half of the aircrews. it was a real mix of personnel. everyone had one goal...saving lives as fast as we could possibly move. i miss working with all of them and hope to do it again. not one bad egg in the group.
You know.....All we can do is try......Try to leave, Try to help, Try not to hate, and Try to feed... As a Warrior I have a job. I love my job and I hate that people hate me because I do what I have to do. Until you really understand and go over there you will then see why, but until then YOU may hate me and I will take that hate from you and hold it....Never Sorry for what we do because we love it.......I pray for the day when the world really needs us.....Pray we will be there for YOU...
Great video! I did some work with some of the PJs in Kandahar back in 08/09. Some of the coolest guys ive ever met. I would love to do helo missions like this. Great camera shots too! I suggest investing in an Twenty/20 vHoldR HD. Its a 1080p independent helmet cam that can be mounted anywhere! You can get some wicked stuff with it. Used it on convoy ops I ran in Kandahar and in Bagram with no problems. Hope its y'all picking my busted ass up! Stay safe out there!

Are you guys with the 129th Rescue Wing?
tobigforyou 10 months ago
@tobigforyou I believe so, I was down at their home base (Moffett Federal Air Field, CA) last year during a educational day there sponsored by NASA I think, anyways, I remember their Blackhawks being like so, and one of the Sergeants there mentioned they had Browning M2 .50 caliber MGs on them. And I believe that they are the 129th RQW but if you also look at one of the links, one of the crew have a Oakland Raiders patch on their chest.
Spartan0189 10 months ago
@Spartan0189 Thx for clearing that up. The 129th RQW is amazing, probably one of the most well known RQS's in the world.
tobigforyou 10 months ago
@tobigforyou But that's just what I could see from the thing, but I do agree with you with them being an amazing RQS :)
Spartan0189 10 months ago
@Spartan0189 The 129 RQS was the lead unit on this deployment. The PJ's were from the 38 RQS at Moody AFB and several aircrew members were from just about every other rescue unit.
xbtx1973 10 months ago
