I just had the experience of going to my first IU game vs. OSU and seen this awesome video for the first time. I can see it would be very nostalgic. GO BIG RED!!!!
Every time they play this at IU games it brings me back to the days of Isiah Thomas, Steve Alford, and of course Bob Knight. No Big Ten school can match Indiana's history, and in a year or two no Big Ten school will match them on the court either.
Like others have stated, this has brought back some great memories! I also remember we had to watch the games on a black and white television...grainy picture and all! We would all gather around the se and if someone called the house do not expect anyone to answer the phone! lol!
I believe they are bringing the mop lady back this year. I saw a quick video on the Big Ten Network that the mop lady was reintroduced at Midnight Madness Oct. 17, 2009.
The whole family stopped what we were doing to sit down and watch IU. My father passed away a number of years ago, but watching this video certainly brought back a pleasant memory. Thanks.
When I was little, I always asked my Dad "is the lady going to sing tonight?" It was my favorite thing! I second you other posters - that's when IU Basketball was the greatest (and it truly meant something!).
I am a HUGE Boilermaker fan, but clip brings back some incredible memories of college hoops in Indiana. Remember those games would come on channel 4. With the grainy picture? Those were seriously the days. Thank you for posting this.
@bojangle323 Hi bo. I am a big IU fan and I agree with your sentiment. Purdue sure had some great teams and great players in the 70's. Off the top of my head- John Garrett, Frank Kendrick, Bob Ford, Bruce Parkinson, Eugene Parker, Walter Jordan, Wayne Walls, and many others. Hope all is well with you!
This is one great video! Truly Etched in my brain forever*
