People like Acharya S (whom seems more like a religious version of Anne Coulter) sicken me. They get a degree and write a few books and become pseudo scholars within their field, yet somewhere along the line they get so high on their ass that they would willingly overlook inaccuracies if it means they'll get their point across. Ok, I am only 3 minutes in and I have a problem with these two. They claim that most people owned a bible back "then". This is not what I had learned at all. Most people could not even read they needed interpretation from the latin the bible was written in (until Guttenberg I believe). As I listen further on it just becomes worse I am afraid.
This video is an attempt at "graying" what we know of ancient culture. Sure, some of it isnt written but pictureglyphs and figurines as well as thousands of other artifacts that shape our view of the ancient world have to be taken into account. You cant just "sort of" gray the Zeigeist arguement. Every arguement, whichever way you believe, has to be interpreted and understood in terms of the culture, natural events, and the value systems. The Constellation Pushya was given the title TISHYA, and in various traditions, Sirius, the Star in the East, shares the same title.

But, as many have noticed, his story has revealing similarities with other deities. If you don't believe this, as I said before, watch the film documentary "The Hidden Story of Jesus" wherein expert Egyptologist (with a PhD, as you wished) is interviewed and Egyptian mythology sites are visited to reveal these similarities.

i'm not religious at all and thought it would be an interesting read. but you can get on wikipedia and there's a lot of stuff in the book that was flat out made up. and most of the references are other writers within the last 20 years. there's not much to back up a lot of it. but there is a lot of it that can be backed up to. enough that she didn't really need to make up other parts.

Christians are EXACTLY who Acharya is talking about being tortured. As you said, these were Christians who wouldn't worship Mary. Why do you think that was? Because a lot of these Gnostic Christians were Docetics (they didn't believe in a physical, flesh and blood Jesus), so they rejected the Nativity story. As you guys say, it is documented. Some purported "similarities", like the "crucifixion of Horus" and "Anup the baptizer", are blatantly false. And other statements Acharya S did, like Set and Horus being brothers, is also false. @1999521 -- Im not only talking about Zeitgeist. What I was saying was that the basic concepts of Christianity were copied from other myths. you should really watch "The Hidden Story of Jesus" available in google video to see for yourself. Jesus was just copied from Osiris.

There's a documentary made refuting Zeitgeist's claims called "Zeitgeist Refuted Final Cut" I mean, Acharya S declares Christianity to have a violent root, but fails to recognize that the Bible condemns violence towards innocence. Jesus' words in John 13:35 were "By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another."

Not only do they have a 2010 release of zeitgeist but they also include in the description a link for a free downloadable pdf that is a complete source book. It covers all 3 parts of the first zeitgeist movie. If you really care about the sources and facts of where zeitgeist has got their information from, download the pdf and see for yourself.

Ok, I am only 3 minutes in and I have a problem with these two. They claim that most people owned a bible back "then". This is not what I had learned at all. Most people could not even read they needed interpretation from the latin the bible was written in (until Guttenberg I believe). As I listen further on it just becomes worse I am afraid.

This video is an attempt at "graying" what we know of ancient culture. Sure, some of it isnt written but pictureglyphs and figurines as well as thousands of other artifacts that shape our view of the ancient world have to be taken into account. You cant just "sort of" gray the Zeigeist arguement. Every arguement, whichever way you believe, has to be interpreted and understood in terms of the culture, natural events, and the value systems. No offense, but this is a really weak attempt.

@Jpressman8 Religion has progressed society more than it has harmed. In terms of war, most countries do not see a different religion as a proper Casus Belli. Religion has been used in the past to fuel momentum for an agenda, but rarely do wars start because of the religion itself.
Religion is a belief set. It's the same as politics and culture. People take a popular opinion and bend it for their own agenda. Thats life. It will never end. The general population will always be a flock of sheep.
