Richie is indeed very underrated guitarist but people do still recognize him as a very good guitarist. He probably doesn't get as much attention as he deserves because he doesn't do all these fancy tapping/sweep/divebomb/shred stuff but that what he does he does extremely well and his solos are among the best there is. And he is one hell of a singer too.

His solo style is very blues-influenced; much different than Bon Jovi stuff. Check out "Mr. Bluesman" and "Father Time" for some great powerhouse vocals from Richie!
