Yes, this is a video from 1999, not 1989, just look at the models of the vehicles during the pursuit, there are plenty of mid to late 90's vehicles on the road seen by the cruisers video camera, and yes John Bunnell is a retard!

The numbers flashing in the bottom right hand corner gives the actual date, Jan. 23 1999. It's hard to see and looks like it could be 89, but if you freeze it at the right point during one of the screen edits you can see '99 is not covered by the channel logo.

After hearing tires squeeling on ice and picking up the sounds of a trash can that was run over and suspects yelling from inside a pursued car 1/2 mile away supposedly heard inside a police helicopter, I don't trust any of the sound effects in any of one-term Sheriff Bonnells videos.

I don't blame you for that. John Bunnell is such a jackass. I saw a chase of a Jeep Cherokee once. He described it as being a high-performance vehicle, with a 250 hp engine. That was a 4 door, 4x4, that weighed about 4000 lbs. They come with a 6 cylinder with about 175 hp.

He just makes excuses when the cops have trouble catching somebody. He brags when a cop does a PIT maneuver. When a car bumps a cop car, he acts like the suspect shot at the cops with an Uzi. He's a big boob!

Bunnell was hired because he is supposed to be an expert. If he had any real knowledge he would point out the errors to make the show more accurate. He is billed as Sheriff John Bunnell, but that isn't really accurate. He was appointed sheriff after the one he worked for retired. When he ran for the office, he lost badly. That other goob officer they use was fired for stealing departmental funds.

For the curious, the video starts with the car going east down State Street. About a mile from the capital he turns right on 23rd. He then takes a right turn going the wrong way on Fairview. He is then climbing up the bench and that overpass (still wrong way on a one way) leads to Fairview (two way) on the bench.

idaho police depts have had video cameras in their patrol cars for almost 15 years. they started out using and actual video camerecorder. now they use a camera connected to a recorder which is usually in the trunk or it is recorded onto a computer thats in the car.
