  • fire alarm evacuation

  • i have been busting my balls to make simple zombie AI! can any one help or tell me about pre made scripts. because i just have a empty first person shooter map now with no one to shoot

  • why cant the makers of blender make proper tutorials for this application!

and why cant they pre-make some objects like a human or car so its easier for us?

  • @3d834 i just got the god dame book BUT! if you dont like to read stick with toytube

  • @3d834 i just got the dame book, but if you dont like to read just stay with youtube

  • sadly, paths are what a crapload of today's next-gen AIs are based off of, still. but good work, i couldn't have done something that smooth.

  • Good luck with this project. It would be nice to have a little more detail in your information though. I would guess that this shows an implementation of path finding or path following. For anyone interested have a google at 'steering ai' the article by Craig Reynolds is a great demonstration.

  • whats an AI

  • artifical intelligence

  • @iceying199 "AI" is an acronym for Artificial Intelligence.

  • For enimes that try to locate the player?

  • for enemies you do near, and, and track to. and also add one to move its location when your near the object to. and to make sure it does it on the right object give the object you wanna sense a property and enter that property in the near logic brick

  • Path following or not, this could be good for a racing AI :).

  • how do you set up path folowing, is it a logic brick, or script

  • i suppose you would need to set up the objects to be attracted or to follow another object or line. Im not to good with blender game , i rather use blender for making 3D graphics (objects, textured objects, animations, etc.)

  • i also like to model things.

if your good i would recommend that you sell your work to istockphoto. if you are interested in it then im sure that you could track down the "5 ways to make money in blender" article written a while back on blender org or blenderartists or blendernation.

it does require that you submit all files in a vector eps format, which was confusing. but there is a program that will convert jpegs into vectors which i called Contentalmages.

btw i am not trying to sell anything

  • i dont know if you read my other message, so look at the comments on the video. it was suppose to be for you but i hit reply to the wrong person.

  • indeed its an AI, , i don't think im that goood that i can make money for it. I make objects for future games or animations i will make, and those are just projects, some i haven't even finished yet, but like , il see whats the deal with istockphoto...

  • Someone wrote here that they just follow a path...maybe not, but aren't the boids? Or something like that?

  • prett cool

  • Not exactly AI..

  • you could always use tue and false values to make them move level to level.

  • animation? python? gamelogics? what you use

  • im pretty sure hes using logic bricks. once the objects hit an invisable object, it sets the path to the new invisable object, and so on eventually leading them out of the building.

  • cool AI

  • thats not AI

  • Reall Cool

  • not bad

  • nice, reminds me of darwinia

  • I loved that game - I hope this develops into a competetor to Massive for Maya!

  • Interesting. Did you just have them following paths or were they actually calculating where they could "step" safely?

  • Thats just paths. unfortunately.

  • oh that's why they all do the same thing

    I see now

  • it does support shadows if you ever watch the video

with the 3d muscle car it has shadows the game engine

    uses shadows

  • Realtime shadows aren't supported with the current GE (Ketsji). However, you can fake it by having a plane with a nice alpha map and set it to "shadow" in the UV Face Select Mode (f). I wish Blender supported decals, it would make the fake shadows more realistic.

  • Blender's GE (ketsji) doesn't support realtime shadows. The "shadows" you saw in the game (which I have) is done by using a plane with an alpha masked texture and choosing "Shadow" in the UF Face Select Mode (F).

  • the apricot branch supports realtime shadows via GLSL

  • ahhh from nine months back.. i don't think there was noob...

  • Relax buddy, the title says "Blender Game Engine AI" which means that AI which controls how they walk down the stairs and exit the building is in the "Blender Game Engine". Anyone can bake the motions in an AI and then animate them using traditional methods, which is all I did. Therefore my claim that it is "Game Engine AI" is not fake fake fake, nor am I a liar or a cheater.

  • You coded this in python ya?

  • Nah, those things are only following a path.. not really AI.

  • i agree, reagardless of what all u guys say, its an Ai

  • @alfordjay dude calm down jeez

  • I don't wana be the last one;)

I didn't know that Blender can be used in such simulations. Thanks for the demonstration!

  • wow, good work. Will you be providing this to the blender game engine comunity?
