Hi, i have the same computer, but you can play in ultra? O.O

I can play in middle without SSAO,Blur, just AA deffered, texture ultra,mesh middle,shadow/effects in low, .. to still everytime at 22-60fps (22minima)

If i push it in ultra i have 7fps...

@Prasopchai I think you should go for 3gb 555m and 4gb ram. BF3 don't require so much RAM power. Mine has 8gb ram and it runs perfectly smooth.

@mas90009 Yes indeed, especially for a notebook!! An i-7 would consume so much more energy thatn an i-5 and would also produce more heat:(

If you dont intend to play those games on max-graphics in combination with a high-end graph-card like the radeon 6990 or the nvidia gtx 580 ( which would still most likely overpower most laptops in a couple of months ) an i-5 is most certainly the best choice for decent performance:)

Will surely also be adequate for BF3!!

This video is so fucking worthless. You could ATLEAST have made fraps include the fps counter... A video with 25 fps seems smooth but we all know it isn't smooth playing with 25 fps.. you can't tell shit from a video, on how a game runs unless it runs really awful.

Not only does Fraps usually deteriorate the performance but you can't tell how the game runs from a youtube video. Even a 25 fps video seems smooth, which it isn't.

@DavidBoy333 chances are you are running the game under the Intel HD integrated card as this is a big problem people are still magically having even though there are posts and guides everywhere, to change this make sure you're running in High performance mode under power settings make sure you right click the exe and make it use the 555gt also if you're certain you're using the card make sure you're bios and drivers are fully updated there's no reason you can't play at Medium at minimal...

@azirulbahrom I don't think n45s has the same specs as the N55SF? When I first bought this, BF3 played fine, but it has started lagging a bit, maybe because of dust in the pc, or unstable nvidia beta driver.

@azirulbahrom Ah ok, maybe I am wrong. Yea the PC uses 2 graphic cards, the Intel card when not in game to save battery power, and uses the gt555m when ingame. Incase you run a game and it uses the intel card, you can force it to use the gt555m by right clicking on the program - "Run with graphic processor" (something like that) and choose the gt555m.

Try get a cooler stand or any update for your cooler and use it when you game, assuming you play home, but it doesn't matter you can get it with you on a LAN party or anything. If those will not work for you, get a small fridge and place it there when it hots ^^

@TheIcemanRS N55SF has a better graphic card as well as more RAM than the xps 15z, I found several versions of the xps 15z though. But anyway if you are going for gaming, choose Asus over Dell :)

I always have tons of programs running, so it can be better, especially game with best engine currently.
