Great workouts.. Love the side jumping burpees. I did those at a boxing club.. after tire slams and i vomited.. lol. Keep posting.. Dont mind the retards..
Your absolutely right, I have 8 years Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and 4 years of Judo under my belt. Not too worried about what would happen in the real world. This is just more for fun.
Damn that's great. Umm few questions.. in Judo are injuries more common than BJJ? thinking of taking it up. How is the newaza in Judo compared to BJJ, is it based on leverage aswell? (I saw some clips on you tube looked like they used alot more strength. What bodyweight exercises would u reccommend to someone who has a few dumbells to get conditioned for doing Judo or BJJ?
I'll try to takle your questions having 5 years in the arts. Judo Newaza compared to BJJ is very basic due to the sport rules. You dont have alot of time to work the ground since again the ref will stand you up if you dont have anything. This makes judo sometimes fasters and brutal. Leverage is the same on the ground since both arts use the same moves. Judo and bjj.. LEGS and legs. lunges and back exercises .with judo you get burned
@LuqmanNaq seriously if you want to get conditioned for anything, you don't even need any dumbells. just do some body weight exercises like press ups, abs trainings, squats and find a place where you can do pull ups/chin ups. if there is none, you can always try to do handstands, then slowly work your way to handstand push ups.
In the real world people get the fucking shit beat out of them by 3 guys or more, sometimes with knifes. What are you gonna do while you grapple with 1 person with BJJ while the other two guys are stamping on your skull, wake up dude and dont be so fucking cocky. You may be ace at BJJ but you can still get your ass knocked the fuck out "in the real world"
if youre attcked by 3 lads with knives ,nothing works only running.I wrestle and do bjj for fun and competition, not for self defence, for that you need a basic striking background with grappling as a back up if things go arseways.
@furyianfiraga guess you're a bit too much into your grappling world. you will need some striking as well and some general surviving skills to "not worry about what would happen in the real world".
I work there, unfortunately, it's sort of hard to get a nice gig, with a lot of clientele that pays well with lots of experience. This is sort of a stepping stone.

you know what else is great for combat conditioning...going to the gunstore to buy a .38 :-)
but i guess a solid workout routine wont be a liability.

Did the burpee to forward roll a bunch in aikido class, that stuff is exhausting.
Sure does get you warmed up though.

@Graftin2006 Except only pussy ass "gangsters" fight people 3 v 1 and unless you live in the hood it's unlikely you'll encounter such douches.
