  • what about if i use nexus one.....no keyboard here.....haha

  • @calvinkkw Old comment is old. However, this might help someone. On Android phones lacking a physical keyboard, you can hold down the Menu button to bring up the soft keyboard. It then works as expected for contact filtering.

  • he looks like an android

  • a little more detail on how entering/accessing contacts and how they display in Android would have been nice. Can you only set up groups via GMail? I have about 8 different catagories of contacts on my circa 1992 VisorPhone. Can Android contacts do this?

  • Stop posting "no news" features. I want to know what makes Android different. Call back feature? Come on...

  • Please check the dates on these videos. Most of these were posted when the G1 was a brand new device on the market and the only Android phone available.

    These videos were definitely exciting for us who had been waiting for an Android phone for months before hand.

  • YOU LIAR

  • Have you noticed all the phones barely have any battery left? >__> I dread G1's battery life and yes, I own one and somehow I love it still.

  • ok wait how do u create groups ??

  • to bad it hasn't got wifi connection :(

    (or has it?)

  • oh but it does :-)

  • Android contacts suck because they lock you into google mail.

    I have my own IMAP server and need to use the contacts & calendar folders from that but can't.

    Developers should not lock you into proprietory services no matter how beneficial they seem.

  • In my G1, when I select show groups it only shows:

    * All contacts

    * Contacts with phone numbers

    * My contacts

    It doesn't show Family, Friends, Co-workers, etc. Any ideas why?

  • You must setup the groups in gmail -> contacts.

  • He has a tiny head xD

  • Anyone know how to synch Outlook contacts?

  • In the Android Market there's at least one application that claims to do that. Haven't tried it, I have no need for it.

  • I really like how this phone syncs everything with Gmail. I can just create a Phone Contacts category in my Gmail account and save them there and then, recover contacts from there if I ever lose my phone. Its really nice. Google should roll this out for all phones. Especially the push Gmail feature that's on the G1!

  • Most phones nowadays have that callback feature included now, no?

  • lol wats call back

  • Sorry I meant the feature that this man in the vid is talking about. Pressing the send key twice will call the person you last talked to. I was wondering if most phones had already had this feature integrated. My last 3 phones had this feature so i assumed so.

  • ya most phone do have it he might have just felt like mentioning it

  • It isn't a feature per say. It is a common thing in any phone. When you press the send button on any phone, it will take you to the call history and if you press green again, it will call them. But you are right. This isn't new. However, Android rocks!
