Stop with the hatin who cares about the lineup The Beach Boys rule and being a friend of Mary J Blige I told her they use Family Affair in a comedy routine about how music has been changing and she told me that she's flattered
Mike Love was a good front man and a vital part of the group. The group itself, however, would never have done a thing had it not been for Brian. Brian's mental problems (induced by drug use and probably latent schizophrenia) eventually made him useless to the group, who had become a 'show band' by that time and as you can see, even to this day put on a good show and sound good. Brian is touring again, but he's a shadow of what he was. Makes me sad to watch him, compared to who he used to be.
"Brian Wilson did not make Mike Love what it he today. Brian was so stoned on cocaine and spending 200,000 for a doctor to get him off the dope the band had to play one concert a year just to keep Brian in rehab for 10 years. so stfu you don't know what you are saying. Mike Love wrote Kokomo, and was lead singer and
contributor on my songs the Beach Boys recorded, and he did it all in 30 years.
Grow up before you post shit you dont know anything about
Mike Love, if you can read this. You should have quit a long time ago you turd flinger. Brian Wilson made you who you were... and what did you do? You sued him for rights to his own music so you could make money performing it. You should be embarrassed you Douche...
@deweypug LOLLLLL I agree with you 100% Mike Love would be pushing a broom and wearing a white cap if not for Brian.I think alot of Brians mental probs have alot to do with Mike.Brians just a peaceful guy and Mike tormented him alot making him a nervous wreck.Peace Desiree Dawn.
Wow, You guys truly were an amazing group. A group that stood the test of time and still to this day is recognized as one of the greatest acts to grace the world.
I really wish I could have seen you when you toured with Roy Orbison back in 1964 in Australia. Roy Orbison and the Beach Boys were my all time favorite acts.
Roy Orbison and the Beach Boys = American Legends.
This is the last version, probably, of the BBs. Mike & Bruce and a bunch of really good singer/musicians. I saw these guys in the summer of 99, and sure -- they were polished, but the magic was gone. The lead vocals that Bruce COULD sing were sung by someone else, and most of the lead vocas were naturally Mike's. So yeah; it basically is an oldies revue show.
You're right, this isn't the Beach Boys, basically a bunch of guys singing BB songs...they approximate the sound but anyone who saw the original group's magic (as I was lucky to do 5 times in the 1980s)can tell the difference.
they do a find job actually , mike did a very nice job of picking people to fit there parts , not the real beach boys no , but hell I saw them live and thought they did not do a bad job
What a shame. The current musicians who make up The Beach Boys band members sound like the Vienna Boys Choir! Mike, what have you done with The Beach Boys' legacy?! Never thought Mike would turn HIS concerts into a Las Vegas lounge act. Love and mercy.
This is NOT the beach boys.... Where is Brian Wilson? Where is Al Jardine? Dennis and Carl is both dead. It`s just like Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr should go out as the beatles. It would be tasteless.
Hell there was a time in the late 70's they thought of getting a group of younger guys just to play the music the beach boys would write so......this is better than that!

Mike and Bruce took notes from Brian (again) and got a fine backup band to help them on stage

I think Adrian Baker was singing the high part on this. Nice video.
Tonysharpe121 5 years ago
No, it's not Adrian Baker; it's Randell Kirsch who took Adrian's place in 2004.

hellomikie92 5 years ago
The reunion featured 5 members - 3 original (Brian, Mike and Al) and 2 others (Bruce Johnston and David Marks).

I dont find it funny that two grown admired men are making fun of others, it looks stupid!!!! (and im a Beach Boys FAn)
vivaelrock87 5 years ago
I agree. A legendary group such as this should take the high road and be glad and willing to pass the torch on to the younger acts.

are you...defending justin timberlake...?
JackWarren2 5 years ago
No, I'm just saying Mike makes fun of Justin, but in the end, they are both the same thing. Regards.
miguelcanel 5 years ago
Because both were popular musicians who appealed to girls? Besides that there's really no comparison...

The Beach Boys aren't the Beach Boys without Brian and Carl.
Prog5000 5 years ago
Who's singing the high part? Bruce?
Justen91 5 years ago
It would be funnier if Mike Love hasn't been saying the same thing for five years in a row.. cool video, though.
