first off...dude you're SICK! We hung out last year at NAMM (IHOP)! Anyway,I've been looking for a solid snare head! How's the difference from a wood snare to a metal/steel one? I currently use a reverse dot Evans my 13x7 tama metal works live, and a Remo vintage for studio/jazz work.
Nice phrasing of the solos. One thing that i feel that a lot of drummers dont do anymore is spacing and phrasing. We need to let the music breath and you my friend did so. Sounds good, and so does the snare lol
@Kutrousaki974 - The song he solos to is called "Acapella (Something's Missing)" by Brandy. It's on her 2008 cd called "Human." He only took the first few seconds of the song where she says "Boom...clap" & looped it.
the sound of the side snare doesn't really sound good if you ask me. crank it up a little more, it's a really think head, and i prefer more of a higher tension, something similar to the remo emp x and black x.
@izzyvulaca Well My PREF using REMO because I play Gospel, Pop, Funk, R&B I use EMPEROR CLEAR on TOP and AMBASSADOR CLEAR for the BOTTOM. Evans Ill use EC2's CLEAR on (G2 Clear for More Open Tones) on the Top and G1 reso for the bottom.
This Video Really Makes Me Wants To Get Up And Go Get Some Aquarian Drum Heads Cause I Tried Almost EVERY Brand But This One, Since I Like Playing Gospel And R&B I Think These Are The Heads For Me
10 millar is a lot different than 10 millimeters :|
AllInDrummer 3 days ago
@AllInDrummer Millar is what the drum heads are made of, 10 mm is how thick each ply is.
ryantksdrums 3 days ago
@ryantksdrums yet again if every ply is 10mm thick the head would be 3 centimeters thick.. every ply is 10 mil thick not 10 mm

Is he using coated ForceTens on the resonance tom heads?
XavierAlexzander 2 weeks ago
@XavierAlexzander I wouldn't think so, that'd completely kill the tone. prolly Aquarian classic clears.

@mrking15 how about these heads on a gretch maple series
izzyvulaca 2 months ago
@izzyvulaca Gretch shells to me gives a good tone but it doesn't SING as much. For that type of SHELL Gretch Maple I'll use REMO. Thats just me.
