  • I hope this was on the NRL Footy Show - it does not belong on the AFL version - this is a League song!!!

  • sound track to my life

  • You knew if you'd seen Billy -you couldn't hear the next day! Memories of South Side Six all those years ago!

  • Mate what a song. Thanks Thorpy!

  • Hmmm...This could be my theme song. Preach on, Brother Billy. You will live forever in one medium or another.

  • most people i know think that im craaazzyyyy!! Billy Thorpe ftw RIP

  • Now this is me with bells on. watch out mad dogs on fire

  • fkn champion, live on Billy Thorpe....... yeah most people i know think that im crazy also m8. RIP

  • AUSSIE TUNES FOR THE WIN!

  • Great man

turned me on the blues at catcher

    him and Max

the best RnB in the southern hemisphere in the late sixties

  • MY old man served in vietnam same time as Billy. Saw him in the bush on an APC. Spin out.

  • The bass player is Dario Bortolin, drums Paul Demarco and Warren(pig) Morgan on keys

  • Saw Billy many years back at Festival Hall in Brisy with Thamann Shudd on the same gig. Great night and a grat era.

  • my dad went to c him at sunbury 3 years straight...said it was the best thing he ever did...RIP IN MATE

  • ... Thats Dai Pritchard on second guitar, he's from Rose Tattoo. Brilliant guitarist

  • I don't know about the rest of his band but are the bassist and 2nd guitarist the same as who used to be with him years ago? did he even have a 2nd guitarist?

  • Truely Brilliant!! Thorpie was Oz! A legend for all time. R.I.P. mate, your music will never be forgotten!

  • bravo!

  • billy was just raw , honest, powerhouse, gutsy talent, this man can never be replaced, such a sad loss to music and the human race !!!!!

    RIP BILLY

  • rock 'em Thorpie!!!

  • I saw him live 15years ago, one of the loudest bands i have ever heard, the greatest band i have ever seen live.

  • A True Oz legend !!!!

    R.I.P. Thorpie

  • billy was just a true rock god, amazingly talented and taken waaaaay to young, such a sad loss to the world off music, one hell off a guitarist also, if there is a afterlife, he would be running amuck up !!!!

    rip billy

  • good on ya thorpie!

    a much missed performer.

this video really shows those aus idol wannabes how its done!!

  • his gorgeous face never changed

    miss ya Thorpie

  • when was this?

  • what a talent. i'm sorry i just "discovered" him. too bad he wasn't big in the us...he should have been. by his stage persona he seemed to be a real decent sort. the saddest part is to learn of him after his passing. god bless you billy

  • yeah i only learned about him when there was a bit on the news when he died

  • That was great, cheers for posting...

  • having seen billy thorpe many times in over 40 yrs i was never ever amazed just a great singer and showman.now delta kylie et al real musos and real people dont worry about or care for them onmly the plastic disposabler people do.there loss they missed a legend

  • onya Billy !!!

  • It frustrates me how the mainstream media and music programs have their favourites and shove it down our throats, like we have to like it!! These IDOL clones just don't do it for me! plus I'm sick and tired of these sports stars, actor's & puppet celebrity's thinking their the 'Rock Stars' now! Leave it to the musicians who are the 'REAL STARS' and have the 'REAL TALENT'!!!!

  • amen, totally agree, well said friend

  • @Champane97 Could not agree more.......to think these Rapper`s think that they have "talent" what a joke ! it`s sad that music has degenerated to such crap......very frightening to think that the other legends will to also be gone one day.......long live AC/DC

  • I still think it hasn't hit home yet of how much of a massive loss Billy Thorpe and his close mate Lobby Loyde is to the music landscape in Australia. With the overexposed of "Our" Delta, "Our" Kylie, "Our" Nicole or more like "Our Crap"! the music scene (in particularly the 'live' scene!) in Australia is at it's crossroads!!!! In the past it was always Billy or Barneys that got it going again.

  • I can never ever picture Billy Thorpe resting in peace, could you ??

  • joking with some mates and like minded musicians in the lord's bar maybe

  • Thats for sure, but to quote Chubb, he would be the band master, and the loudest axe man in heaven, :)

  • great to see , we love ya billy

as a 16 yo billy thorpe at sunbury singing somewhere over the rainbow and be bop a lula a memory that will never die

and this song , i remember we used to ring up in the old telephone box for the hit of the week to listen to this song . bloody great
