  • You're are pointing my default so as to excuse yours : to think you got the

truth. I'm sorry for you, presumptuously.

  • What a stupid dance. Watching this just annoyed me. It wouldn't have been that bad if she hadn't been bouncing on her feet the whole time, but that's just irritating. I appreciate that she has to have extreme discipline and talent to do this, but it's still aggravating to see it wasted on such an idiotic dance.

  • Mrs poison, maybe you don't like because you forgot that dance is made for being watch on stage. This dance is a question of aura or presence, something like this. I'm sorry for you, obliged to judge dance behind your screen...

  • @lezartvivant Don't think you're so much higher than me that you have any sort of right to feel sorry for me. The dance is stupid. I would think that were I to see it in person. Like it if you want, I don't care, but don't think you have any right at all to feel sorry for me. It's just presumptuous.

  • Great!

  • Interesting

  • lovely as ever - shame the cameraman had tourette syndrome..

  • god, this must be exhausting to dance.....

  • guillermo98081

In all fairness both Maya and Sylvie are very good - but Sylvie is excelence as dancer with a controlled but vibrant soul applied. She is as good as we will see. Her rythm never falters and lines and turns are inmaculate. Ah, those gifted perfect feet. Watch her hair, always perfect. Sylvie you are what you are - tops.

  • it seams that the one holding the camera had no business useit :)

sometimes it totaly out of focus. :X

to bad because the dance is behind words.

  • Can we ever get a chance to see the original Bolero with beautiful and fabulous Dushka Sifnios???!!!!! Maya is to rigid, Sylvie is great, but Dushka was the best. I saw it once long time ago on TV and never again. Does anyone have this video?? Thx

  • i like Maya's better....better flow in what she does!

  • Sylvie ...é dessas pessoas,

que deveria ter o direito inalienável de andar

    nua pelo mundo...

visível; só para quem busca o amor e

    totalmente invisível para quem

    ainda nçao aprendeu a ver

    nas maravilhas do mundo... Deus!

  • No matter the styles and fashions, she incarnates human grace. Lucky the people who can recognize that, at least.

    Thanks for posting!

  • maurice bejart makes sylvie dance like a million dollar vs euro. I find this woman so interesting, classic, modern, contemporary. no matter what she is the motivation for anyone to watch dancers to dance. I like everything she does, needless to mention her beauty.

  • Maurice Bejart = <3

  • such physical disciplin and grace

  • she´s wonderfull---

  • she is a surreal creature...amazing movement and personality

  • watching Sylvie: when i look at her dancing this..it fills the very core of my being with good feelings. she's such an enigmatic dancer that i've been stuck on her since the first day i saw her. i must admit that i normally hate modern ANYTHING but when Guillem is involved....i can offer nothing but my love. She's changed my life and I've never even met or seen her in person. thank you sylvie. and thanks to you CDBC for posting this. it keeps me alive

  • the problem with modern dance is that someone can pretend to dance some modern choreography without schooling. very painful to watch.

  • @laparisienne1 I know what you mean, but that's definitely not the case with Sylvie. Although she only started dancing at around 11 or 12, she joined Paris Opera at around 16, and god knows how hard she worked to become of the most famous dancers ever

  • @Kata397533 totally agree - the comment wasn't about Sylvie but about people with no serious schooling whatsoever - i admire Sylvie determination to be a creative dancer and brake away from the mold. she is indeed incredible. So are many other less famous dancers.

  • I get goosebumps everytime I see this. I've got the old Jorge Donn VHS and a DVD of the NHK broadcast earlier this year. Is there a Guilem official dvd release somewhere?

  • She is awesome, but i like maya better as well. And i think is better played by a man, rather than a woman.. their energy is better suited with the strong musical themes. I think. but loved anyways

  • I actually always envisioned this piece as a Spanish style pas de deux for multiple pairs. A modern ballet piece, maybe akin to Red Angels.

  • Agree. Although I like Sylvie better as a dancer, Maya's style was a better fit for Bolero. Anyway, this is sool.

  • @iysum As someone who doesn't know dance, what's the difference between two dancers styles?

  • @cheremushki To me, Sylvie is perfect in technique and extremely graceful. What she does to her body is amazing. Don’t forget she was once a gymnast. When she dances she forgets herself and is sold completely to the dance itself; this makes her a goddess. But she enjoys the movements so much that she can slightly too objective, therefore too withdraw from the character. Maya is a passionate dancer. Belero is a piece that sets the dancer on fire. Better fit to Maya's style.

  • @iysum Cheers! I can certainly understand the need for balance between the structure and interpretation!

  • same with idance 18

  • She is perfect!, but i like maya better for this piece.

  • Each movement has such perfect precison and placement, I love it

  • gorgeousness all around...

  • She's my favorite...
