  • 1:42 toi ei ees kirjottanu samaa tekstiä mitä tohon tuli -.-

  • everyone see the convenience of a phone with touch screen

    and the big icons?

    if you love big icons,

click my username to check the video of this MyPhone application run on S60 OS.

  • I want one. Nokia better work like a crazy mother FFFFFF to get this done fast.

  • Also a poor imitation of The Roots' The Seed...

  • precisely what i was going to say

  • This is a very good platform, but I think that a company like Symbian should have created an at least a bit different software, like Nokia should have created a different device design, because both are very similar to iPhone.

iPhone is iPhone and S60 is S60.

Nokia used to make original designs before (like 3650, for ex.), not now anymore..

  • I don't know about the people who hate touch screen keyboard, but all I know is that.. the next computers will be any way...

  • a stylus?!?!? fuck off

  • Good grief that thing is ugly, it almost makes me ashamed of being a finn, despite the fact that this was designed at Nokia's design studio in the UK.

Nokia once again shows why it's got it's market leader position only from making cheap phones to developing world countires.

Guess I'll just get an iPhone 3G once it releases here on June 11:th, despite getting stuck with the worst cellphone operator in Finland, (Telia)Sonera.

  • Good. So you are willing to pay 32euro x 24 months + 150euro for iPhone 3G.

  • No, I'm paying for the entire phone right away (429 euros), unlock it with ZiPhone (one they make it iPhone 3G compatible) and pay the base fee (2 euro's a month) for two years and after that closing the subscription.

Final Price: 453 euros, compared to about 550 for a Nokia N82....

  • I see pixels. Cgi animation sucks.

  • This is a joke, right? A PLASTIC STYLUS? This is 2008, not 1998!!!

  • I'd rather use the stylus than my thick fingers. Like hello, try to point "Post a video comment" on this page. You're in risk to tap accidentally "post a text comment".

Since Nokia cannot control e.g. internet content, it's very wise to provide also a more accurate pointing device.

  • that's why we have the zoooooming on the iPhone ;)

  • Wrong. Ever heard of zooming? I have used several touchscreen devices with stylus (Nokia N810 for example) and it just sucks when compared to iPhone / iPod touch. True, Nok^h^h^hS60 folks can't just copy Apple's idea / implementation but they COULD do better than put plastic stick in and offer no "unlimited" zooming :I

  • Forgot to say that anyway 1000times better than iphone...buah it`s a joke

  • Hey, they are walking in Porvoo. Have never thought that Nokia films in Finland. Ok, more cost effective to just jump out from their head office and start filming ;)

Personally i think Nokia should again start making phones for "finns"..that`s how they did the breakthrough.. Best design, easiest to use and best functions..that should be the way. Those pens are from arse..looks stupid

  • This device does not exist (yet), well maybe after Christmas 2008. Nokia comes late as usual, like with the clam shell phones. S60 should be ashamed of them selves, UIQ had a touch screen a year ago. Nice Video though, lots of grats.

  • obycajni curaci :)))))) nic kreativneee

  • iPhone doesn't have MMS

  • Cool device, contains access to YouTube also! Will beat Apple's iPhone.

  • mitä helvettii toi kynä tekee tossa

  • Cant wait. Probally going to pass with first S60 ts phone, but with second i'm in. After all S60 5th edition will be the new platform and we are going to see these phones alot next year and end of this tear.

  • NOKIA FOREVER

  • hey, anyone knows how the song's called??

  • after when they release this kind of phone... they will then release different types of models which only differs very little. And then the price is very expensive depending on the model. That's how they do business and trick your mind with there ads.

  • Apple would like to be able to release similar version of the same phone (as Nokia does) but they cannot.

S60 is flexible & open platform.

Flexible = easy to port on diferent Hardware

Open = Anyone can write proper application. For example, both Nokia & Apple have their own GPS Map application. However, they are far beyond e.g. Tom Tom

On te other hand, iPhone is compact product with the advantage that it can do some simple stuff faster.

  • Oh, you forgot to mention that S60 UI is crappy if you think of it from usability point of view. The touch UI isn't any better. The menus tend to be wayyy too complicated.

I'm not a big fan, but at least Apple did a decent job on the UI.

  • Its only you being crappy. Its not difficult at all. you just have to get used to it. s60 is the best :) and touch just makes life easier so you can get to the menu you want much quicker. :)

  • In fact, open platform is a nightmare for all developers.

I have worked for a mobile game company, everytime we release a new game, we have to port that game to 300 different handsets!! And our amazing QA testers have to work like octopus and try their best to meet the release deadline. Sometime, they have 10 handsets in front of them and play 10 games at the same time....

  • Nokia was trying their best to minimize the difference between their S60 handsets. Most the current N series S60 handsets have the same screen resoluation(240x320) and two soft keys.

Once s60 Touch is released, it is going to be a nightmare for every s60 developers. They might have to totally rewrite their app using the new GUI SDK so that their apps can support touch screen. This isn't a fun job....

  • That sparkle at the end was the cheesiest thing eVR!

  • OK. Nokia. Now we know the new S60 can do what iphone can do. But can you show us what makes it better than iphone? so that we, as users and developers, shall wait for another 1 year..

  • eye twinkle=fail

  • Not bad, but the new 3G IPhone 8GB will be 199$... with 16GB 299$

and this? 500 or 600$? Is it worth it?

  • From USA i believe? Those 500 and 600 are unlocked prices. You get N95 8GB for free with 2 years contract. So first S60 TS phone should be easily free with 2 years contract as it's just 5xxx series phone... thought no one gets 2 years contracts in uk ;)

  • Yes if you would like to use 3rd party apps etc. Anyway i dont like touchscreens :/

  • No kinematic interface for scrolling?

  • Looks amazing!

I would like to get one! :)

  • by the way its an n96 in the video. And "acsess sites that know where you are" means there is no GPS receiver in it

  • Nope. That's not N96. N96 doesn't have a touch screen. Check it out on Nokia's website. :P

  • That is an N96 by the way :D but yes its not touch screen. But cant you see when she is touching it the whole thing is photoshop-?? lol

  • The real device that the lady is holding might be N96. Can't be sure because it's never shown from up close. But the photoshopped thing is something else. Probably not even a real product.

"You just have to get used to it" pretty much means that a UI is crappy. I work with S60 phones every day. I'm totally used to them and the usability still sucks.

I just wish Nokia dumped the whole Symbian+S60 combo already.

  • Well smart phones are for smart people :D So why don't you use s40 then? I myself couldn't do my job without symbian. Its irreplaceable. Ohh btw do check out my vids where you can see the difference between k850 and n95 8gb lol :D

  • Wow! looks amazing!

    2nd comment ^^

  • i love the new nokia iphone killer
