For the record, the Liontamer = Walls of Jericho.  When Jericho was breaking into the main event, most of the bigger guys were harder to execute the Liontamer on, hence it becoming a standing crab. The Kliq had a lot to do with this change in his wrestling style from what I've heard in shoot interviews read in books.

yeah but he did that when he ship was already sinking. doing it as a last resort to keep the company afloat isn't the same as doing it to break new ground. besides, most of the talent he pushed had been held down for so long that they weren't as over as they could've been.

The ship was only sinking because of AOL/Time Warner who never wanted WCW to succeed. If their parent company wasn't imploding from within WCW would still be around today.

That is truth, it is all because of AOL/Time Warner...they had a gold mine in wrestling even though Nitro was getting beat by RAW at this time it was still their highest rated program. The suits ruined WCW, not from inside.

basically the suits in charge wanted wrestling off their network and in the process the guidelines for Nitro went from unpredictability, chaos and realism to going towards the kiddie route which is why RAW struggled initially the first 2 or so yrs. during the Monday Night Wars....then Brad Siegel said cancel it....

Yeah but there were a ton of problems going on in the inside as well and if they kept doing the crap they were doing it was bound to catch up with them. Chris Jericho's WCW run and them failing to capitalize and push him to main event status despite how over he was as a heel and the obvious talents he had kind of epitomizes how far management had their heads up their asses. As well as going with the nWo storyline for so long after it became really stale in 98.

@KingTMD they're not exactly the same, the walls of jericho is a simple boston crab whereas the liontamer is done at more of an angle, instead of just grabbing the legs and sitting, he puts one knee on the guys back while stretching the guys legs to where he's almost vertical.
