I like that your videos show a working heliostats doing something useful. So I'll do some more looking around and maybe I'll find one that shows what it looks like indoors. For instance I would expect there to be a little bouncing of the light from the influance of the wind on the mirrors or the movement of the motors.. Is the bouncing annoying when you are trying to read? Do you Defuse and how?
Hi Artemus21: You can see interior photos on Practical Solar's website. The movement you see in the sun spots is actually the adjustment each heliostat makes every 30 seconds or so to compensate for the sun's movement. The heliostats are highly wind resistant, so only on very windy days in unprotected areas would you notice the movement. A diffuser could certainly be used. Many customers program their heliostats to target the top of a window, so the light diffuses off a light-colored ceiling.
i was wondering, how much energy does the engine consumes. Is it way less then using regular lamps?
