  • i miss Andy West

  • This song makes me wanna have sex with my cousin.

  • this band's guitarist plays like Steve Morse!!!!

    /watch?v=KZJKPLo32aE&feature=related

  • wow, who is the bass player?

  • @ralexlu I believe it was Michael Manring who played the bass in this album.

  • @ralexlu Dave LaRue :) try to search Dave LaRue with a Korg Pandora PX5D at Winter NAMM 2009, he plays this song too :)

  • @ralexlu dave larue

  • I want music like this to be played at my funeral.

Maybe it'll bring me out of my slumber ; )

  • This music makes Americans want to fuck their sister and drink moonshine.

  • @ojideagu And that comment makes British people seem very smart!

  • My all time favorite jam'n Steve Morse song the very first song from his very first solo album, "Cruise Missile" from 1984's The Introduction.

  • after listening carefully to this video, i now realize exactly why i've never even heard of him.

  • Tommy emmanuel!!

  • @saftelskeren Yes this does sound a bit like tommy emmanuel....

  • incredible tone on this one

  • Steve morse plays some great melodic stuff , nice player to listen to , the only thing i dont like about his playing is his vibrato , it sounds like a cat getting its neck rung

  • the playing in this song is INSANE !!!!

  • there was this period in the late 80's, anytime, wait, everytime you'd see a picture of steve morse, he'd have this weird red and black vinyl looking sleevless thing on, that looked like some sort of bondage gear. somebody, some chick, must have told him to take it off and never wear it again. that outfit (that he always had on) made it impossible for me to take any interest in him as a guitar player. maybe i'm superficial, but it was bad....

  • there is a song like this by steve morse but i forgot the title!!!! SOMEBODY HELPS ME!!!!!! PLEASE!!!!

  • @rael3554

Rael....... it's probably "Pride O' the Farm" from when Morse was in the Dixie Dregs.......

  • @MrRottenotto2003 sadly, it isn't!! i only remeber that there was an incredible bass riff at the start or something, and in my ipod the name was "TRACK 5"! but it was like this: country.

  • @rael3554 Did it have Steve exchanging licks with a very hot fiddler who totally kept up with him? On the "Stand Up" album there's a great country track called "Pick Your Poison" with Mark O'Connor guesting on fiddle, could it be that one?

There is also another very bluegrass/country tune from the Dixie Dregs catalogue called 'Gina Lola Breakdown'.

Here's the Steve Morse band playing that:

    /watch?v=C9PmrH0demA

  • @rael3554 stressfest maybe?

  • @ironwolg no. I found it and it was "smokey mnt drive". grazie lo stesso!!!

  • @ironwolg no, finally i found it and it's called "smokey mnt drive", i think! =)

  • @rael3554 There's usually one on each album --- maybe Pride o' the Farm? Gina Lola Breakdown? General Lee?

  • muchodelcrazy, you chase the chickens and I will chase da chicks!

    Morse is da man!

  • Our opinions just reflect musical tastes and preferences. I like SM music because it reflects a particular mastery of the instrument and a musical sensibilty. Sense of melody, development of music through variation, tasteful moments of sheer technical brilliance, and when we arrive at the end of the piece we have feeling of completion. All the parts: drums, bass and lead, contribute so everything is said and nothing to add.

  • YEAH!! as far as the SRV and SM comparison. Both are great, But I think Steve Morse is more diverse. Morse can play SRV, but SRV can't play all of Morse. I think anyway. Or maybe i'm biased because Iv'e always felt Morse is so uderated as a musician.

  • A Ge- 4400 Dash-9 Comin down the Clinchfield.. "Put the Throttles down boys"...

  • I hear this song and think of the Benny Hill show, lol!

  • @hazor777 definitely from the Benny Hill show! har har har

  • freaking insane playing

  • Great song!! Bluegrass!

  • Idolo!

  • Most awesome!

  • WOW! This is GREAT!!

  • i saw sm play this live, incredible, ....not many guitar players could tackle this song

  • No offense, Morse is one of my favorite guitarists, but his bends tend to be dissonant (not microtonal) while reaching their intended note, which turns a lot of people off from his music.

Since you draw SRV in for comparison-- also one of my favorite-- SRV's bends tend to be flawless. I've seen him tune his guitar in the middle of a song by ear while continuing to play because a note was just a hair out.

  • @Bern938 huh? I think Steve M tone is what makes him so great. You can't really compare srv and sm, two totally different players, srv was the best at his style, Steve Morse is the best at his

  • lucas3007-You putz !!! Even Frank Zappa refused to "rank" guitarists. Isn't it much more enlightened to appreciate musicians for what they do rather than subjectively compare them ? I mean comparing to discuss differences in approach and their respective success with said approach is one thing but to call SRV autistic in comparison makes you look like a ten year old.

  • @ebby1212 That is a good point but these days guitarists vye to be the 'best' and so the culture of being the best manifests itself in their community. However, the proper ones aren't that bothered and only concern themselves about the music they can make and channel that through their chosen tool which is the guitar. My mate's the best anyway

  • What the hell have SRV and SM got to do with each other? Entirely different genres. Might as well say Chet Atkins eat your heart out. As for the autism red herring - well hopefully now know better

  • wOw! HoLy sMoKeS!

  • seem SRV

  • SRV is fucking autistic compared to steve morse...

  • @Lucas3007 No need to abuse SRV to exalt Steve.

  • Hhahaha all respect for SRV but i know what you are trying to say

  • your remark sounds like someone who is autistic.

  • @Lucas3007 Bullshit. You obviously know shit about music. Speed doesn't mean you're a musical genius.

  • @Sunderlanding correct ...technique and creative genius are NOT the same .... the difference between a technician and an artist

  • @Lucas3007 buckethead is autistic and that dosnt seem to hold him back

  • Muchodelcrazy that is a good plan i would chase chickens to this aswell

  • @knifewithfork This is good music for chasing any farm animal really, lol.

  • brilliant

  • Yeehaw, I could chase chickens to this!

  • Best compliment ever. Know exactly what you mean!

  • me too

  • @Muchodelcrazy that's hilarious...chasing chickens...I could see it; someone chasing chickens to this piece. Too funny.

  • I love Morse Band as I love my family! Thanx for posting this amazing music and pics! Cheers from Brazil!

  • haha boaa garotaoo

  • steve morse = absolute superior master.

  • Agreed. Me & a mate came up with an arrangement of this for two guitars to perform in class at music college & having not given ourselves sufficient weeks/months/years required to nail it, decided to reduce the tempo slightly & swing it ;) Makes for a great country/electric bluegrass technique workout though!

  • man, when i decided that i was happy with albert lee at that insane tele style, i have to rethink it.

  • This song rocks even on Guitar pro with RSE sounds awsome.... but very hard to play

  • i love this style of music

  • Love that picture of Steve at 0:47, just great!!

  • what pic? The one you're talking about comes in at 0:32, doesn't it?

  • yeah, ur right, i just didnt notice it at 0:32

  • whot cd is this off?

  • Coast to Coast

  • I think it is from Coast to Coast

  • have you ever tried playin' that?!!

    dude, that's so freakin' hard!!

and inspite of his incredible technique he creates great music...others often lose that - but not him!!

    Steve!!!!!!

  • i am tabbing this, i have it tabbed to about 1:20

  • The GOD of Guitarists!

  • Wut about Michael Lee Firkin's "Runaway Train"

  • I love Michael Lee Firkin's shrapnel release and still listen to it today but this is in a totally different category .. Morse has always throw in a killer 'plank spanker' of a country tune on most of his releases and I still haven't picked my jaw up of the floor since hearing this tune when it first came out !!!

  • accompanied by the god of bass

  • accompanied by the god of bass

You certainly have that right! I didn't mean to under emphasize Dave's incredible playing.

  • What? Is Billy Sheehan playing bass for Steve on this track? :O

  • don't think so man, that sounds like dave to me. they're both insane though, them and john myung, damn

  • No, that's Dave LaRue actually.

  • too*

  • I love this song!

    I love Steve Morse! xD

    YEAH!

  • me to
