I am French American, I grew up as a young adult (when starting to understand general things) in France. In that country we/they use the 24 hour clock as second nature. Their national train company (the S.N.C.F.) used/uses the 24 hour clock. In the old days, only a hand full of people had cars... Everyone used the train system and got totally used to the 24 hours, this might have been left from the Germans from the second World War. No-a-days Radio/TV give the 20 hour news (the 8 o'clock news).
@bredgeo1 Intresting :) In th UK we mainly use the 12 hour clock 9:30 am, morning, 9:30 pm evening although a lot of timetables trains, buses, etc... are shown as 24 hour times.
@Films4You >>> REALLY???!!! So, you do have the 24 hour clock with the pubilc transport, yet you keep the 12 hour clock for everyday time-keeping. Interesting. i I wonder why the French addopted the 24 hours? The germans use it to (still0).
why?????? Why your looking if you already know. Some people, even high intellegence, do not know... It's just something they've never been taught, so that is Why
i get better explanation by staring at the clock -.-

everything past 12 (noon) If it's 7pm you would add 7 and 12 to get 1900 hours.

@bredgeo1 The clocks over here, UK, are mainly 12 hour, (as shown in this video but with different styles)...
Some. (almost most), timetables they use 24 hours... For visitors and to stay the same as outside Counties, I think
So people need to know how to convert... hense the video :)

Is there a difference between using 00:00 or 24:00 to represent 12:00 am . Nice video

Not so far as I know I think most people use 00:00 in time tables, etc.. but 24:00 could also be used.

@Films4You They are both the same.
