  • It's sad to say, but Sheryl Crow, Dolly Parton and Carlene Carter spoil their contact with the audience by their desperate appeal "Love me - at least a little bit". No dignity, no self-reliance, no professional pride as a musician.

  • Awww!! I realy enjoyed this song, maybe its cuz im Mexican. Gotta love JB! He's one of my favorites. :)

  • fuck mexico!!!!!

  • jackson browne is a class act. a god among singers

  • Maybe the key didn't suit her. Sometimes it's difficult to find a suitable key when you have a male/female combo.

  • wankfest??

  • Yah, poor Cheryl (I usually love her), but here she sounds like she just came out of a bout of laryngitis. As far as I'm concerned, she usually sounds like she was meant to be a singer, but in this "offering" she sounds like she definitely wasn't meant to be a singer... at all. (Sorry, Cheryl, but please don't get on the stage when you're not in your best form.) Either David or Jackson could have sung this song much better, especially Jackson (no apologies, I'm partial to Jackson).

  • This is weak. I guess "times are hard".

  • some is a gift from God, some is learned, whichi is better

  • Jackson Browne... Ah. I can't believe he's taking a backseat to that clown.

  • The only shitty part of this video is Sheryl Crow. Their singing is like fresh pancakes. Hers is like one of Joan Rivers famous 8 day period tampons.

  • Super and gun. Well done!

  • Is Sheryl Crow always this mediocre? What is she doing onstage with those two greats?

  • this would have been better with the mute button on. she should have let jackson sing it

  • Is that the Blues Brothers band behind them?? I recognize Lou Marini from Denton, Texas!

    .

  • I've Been and I know,

you need to Go it's FUN

    Mazatlan Rock's

  • This is fun.

  • Me three

  • This version sounds like a bag of rancid ass! Complete crap. James Talyor himself should have been booing them. Seriously this is terrible.

  • This version sounds like a bag of rancid ass! Complete crap.

  • When are people going to wake up and realize Sheryl Crow has NO talent whatsoever?

  • @weh000000000000001 ..I just did..; )...if your'e a masochist check her out covering the Stones

  • you can tell that Browne and Crosby are great musicians, though because they aren't too stuck up to be backing singers to someone else

  • Jackso deserves way better than just a guitar player or backing musician.

  • greatest waste of Jackson Browne's time I have ever seen

  • This ENTIRE Evening was Glorious.

Music Cares is one of America's greatest resources.

May it grow and thrive forever.

  • Nothing compares

  • I like Sheryl and she has a great voice but she just can't carry this song, oh well. I still loved hearing her JT story.

  • The trifecta of leftism singing to their hero.

  • @jwmellott That is funny...well done.

  • Too bad they couldn't get Buffet to show up for this song. I'm guessing he has performed it as many times as JT.

  • @alienhuman Buffett*

  • @alienhuman buffet sucks!! i don`t wanna here margaritaville for the 2,000,000,000,001 time.

  • @RJiminez51 Neither do I.

  • @RJiminez51 correction, i don`nt wanna "HEAR" margaritaville for the 2,000,000,000,001 time.

  • Cheryl " Old " Crow

  • to: kayranaway - I think not ALL the ladies

  • Jackson Browne, Sheryl Crow, and David Crosby walk into a bar and sing a James Taylor song. *ba du chhh*

  • Mr. Browne is always a gentleman to the ladies he sings with....David as well....thanks!

  • fubar: an old military term meaning 'phucked up beyond all recognition'...

  • Crosby looks like my toothless wino uncle ; )..maybe a few rehearsals would have helped,or tequilas..

  • @celloprofundo I guess you could have done better...

  • I love James...but a bit lame. Arrangement is dreadful.....

  • wow... a lot of complainers...I really liked it

  • two absolute legends supporting one utterly talentless longterm famegrabber. she's a self-obsessed bitch.

  • browne or crosby shoula done this one. still good though.

  • well he wasnt there

  • Steve Gadd on drums and Lou Marini on sax,

  • Crosby would have been better on lead vocal --- and why would they need those 2 backup singers back in the band when there are already 2 backup singers up with the lead??

  • I love CS, but this is horrid, watch her early on, i think she has'nt got monitor volume, keeps looking down, maybe thats it.

  • Browne is always so kind and willing to let others play no matter how famous he is he's always been a good human being

  • jackson doing lead could've amped / cranked it up - needed more zip !

  • "Wankfest"...love it! LOL!

  • fubar in my country means some kind food take from the milhor!

  • This is totally fubar, but I kind of like it, for some strange reason...

  • @znarf541 what is "fubar"?

  • Crow was in waaaaaayyyyy over her had with this one

  • this is fucked up, a one-day-fly leading between browne and crosby...

  • beautiful. great TRIO!

  • David crosby: Almost cut my hair;)

  • haha agreed alienhuman!!

Jackson, youre still the greatest musician alive!!

  • Hey 4rainbowed, you stand in front of JT and sing a song he wrote. You have been spoiled by autotune. That's why they call it live music. I've seen Sheryl nail it live on songs she sings more often than a one off like this. I hate to see what would be said if Buffett sang it.

  • @Stevieraygall Your right. You can hear it her voice, not even having to see her body language. She can and does usually nail it. She is very uncomfortable(put nicely), singing this song, so she should have just refused to sing it. It makes the audience feel uncomfortable, when the one on stage is uncomfortable, and I am sure that she would know that too! ???

  • With the talent on that stage how did she get the lead? Shoulda had Buffett there for this one.

  • 1st time heard - wow - 3 brilliant artists- woooooo

  • would've preffered if jackson browne sang it

  • me too

  • @NeoTRP Me to

  • @NeoTRP me too....I love jackson Browne

  • @justinzaruba so do us all a favour and do not harp on about it. By all means criticise but why the need for the sexual content? I

  • This would be AMAZING if it weren't for Sheryl Crow. She can't stay on key for a sustained amount of time. Without her guitar to hide behind and to remind her what notes to aim for, she just can't hit it. Hate to hear her at 1:40! OW!

(Oh, man, I just had a glimpse of her trying to sing acapella, nightmare.) What a shame b/c Browne and Crosby are two f the greatest singers and harmonists alive.

  • Can you tell me where is DVD name, where can I get it? thanks....

  • Must have been a fantastic night !

  • Awesome to see 3 totally different singers all amazing in their own right paying tribute to a "Master"...as for "wankfest"...I guess that might be what you call it when you are paying your respects to a legend. Both James Taylor and CSNY were inspiring.

  • Tough song to do, I think they pull it off nicely. Great band. Wouldn't you just love to hear some of the detractors give it a shot?

  • It's hard to fault Sheryl on this one. Bad band, bad sound (you can't even hear jackson browne). She's the leader and she does her best to carry it off. She's also so photogenic...

  • This is not Sheryl's best performance, but then I don't think she was ever fully relaxed into it (perhaps this isn't her favorite key). I've heard her do some good stuff though, you can't knock her credentials based on one bad performance. Overall an average cover, but it wasn't slaughtered or anything like some here are saying. JT is the king out of all of these though.

  • Crosby is a legend and Jackson Browne is still as overrated as he always was (and sad to still see his very average commercial tripe compared to the works of the great James Taylor even after all these years.) That's all I have to say.

  • Sheryl Rocks! Thank you for posting!

  • Sheryl is not a strong singer. The Dixie Chicks performance blew her out of the water.

  • I love any occasion to hear these guys on any stage. Perhaps not her best vocal but a real sweet story that honored James! Once in a life time chance.

  • Where's Graham? Crosby and Nash sang backup on the original. Why the hell is she there? Not very smooth

  • SOMEbody had to blow the roadies, Pigburn.. ; )

  • sorry folks that was 4 minutes of my life i won't get back.... bruuuuttttaaaalllll

  • wait, i have changed my mind..i have just watched the whole thing...that was terrible..

  • it wasnt too bad. i luv that song.

  • just fab

    thanks for this

  • Jackson Browne doesn't seem to look any older than he did in the seventies. Still drop dead gorgeous

  • jackson is .... unique, trully one of a kind

I doubt there will be someone like him. . .

  • sorry I didn't mean to dislike that!!! I couldn't agree more! I love Jackson :) xoxo

  • this is fucking deplorable...this is a perfect example of how Hollywood takes a great song and totally sucks the wind out of it....can I shit on this??

  • omg this is absolute fucking ridiculous jargon that should be erased from existince my ears r still bleeding

  • Sheryl and Jackson should sit down and let that fat bastard Crosby sing it sweet.

  • Ugh. Sheryl Crowe ruined this song. Woulda been much better if Crosby would have been the lead singer with Browne backing/duet.

  • this would have been better if jackson was the main one who was featured, he should never sing back-up!

  • hoooooo MEXICO I LOVE U,PUERTO VALLARTA

  • Lou Marine on Sax from The Blues Brothers Band. Im Amazed!

  • wankfest hahaha...my fave james taylor song actually.

  • ...and a SPLENDID wankfest it must have been!!! Thanks for postin'!!!

  • My old couch is 12,,,Sheryl tore up Milwaukee this summer, great tribute from talented singers and songwriters to Mr Taylor...Sheryl has been to the fire, she exudes soul, on the live stage....

  • james is a legend, one of his best songs... im glad she did a tribute to hi, im sure it came from the heart

  • jackson and crosby are legends!

    sheryl crow just isn't.

  • You got that right, dog!

  • Sheryl hasn't been around for decades yet. Give her a bit more time. I'm from the class of 69 and knew Crosby's music when he was still a Byrd. I agree that J.B. and D.C. are legends. I'm amazed that David still has that angelic voice after all the coke and what-not. In fact, I'm astounded he's still living and performing. Gotta love him.

  • I agree 100%!

  • You don't have to be a legend to be awesome. As a matter of fact, it becomes detrimental sometimes.

  • Great and Pretty sheryl crow!!!

  • Speaking of Mexico, Firefall did a GREAT song called Mexico, as well...an entirely different song, but jeekers, it's good...

  • Wow, oh yeah! I used to love that song.

  • Three great singers, all off key... probably the rent a band's fault...

  • Bland, they should've let Jackson sing lead, he's got soul, Cheryl don't. Crosby is always good for some laughs though.

  • I remember when i got the "Gorilla" LP for my 15th or 16th birthday... "Mexico" is the first track. I wore that vinyl out, every song is a gem.

  • Holy shit its David Crosby, ouch hes so old!

Sheryl is awsome and i love the song Mexico! i'd also recomend listening to Sweetbab James, another by James Taylor. Now go listen to some Janis Joplin.-Love&Peace, Hippie chick Sierra (im not an old hippie though, more like 12, but hey its was awsome stuff then, minus exteme amonts of pot,LSD, and all the other crap)I love you all!!

  • LOL! This was a little odd. Certainly not a top rendition but it worked. I'm sure JT enjoyed it. I love Jackson Browne and Cheryl Crow, Crosby is just a classic, can't go wrong listening to his stuff. 2rainbowed: Crosby and Nash doing it would have been excellent!

  • thank you for posting...

  • wonderfull

  • Could have done without Cheryl Crowe.... JB and DC could have done sooo much better .

  • Obviously no rehearsal time. They're flat. I'd LOVE to have heard Crosby and Nash do this!!

  • wow!3 great artist.

  • Didn't do anything for me - boring performance actually

  • Yeah, pretty flat performance by all - but I still love her, and she looks like a million bucks...

  • I'm sorry but that was just horrible...were the 2 guys microphones even on? love the song and the performers though

  • Great job, beautiful song!

  • This really points out the difference in musicianship from the 70's to now - she's flat on the melody, wrong notes in the modulations and the mix is all wrong, probably why she's flat, she can't hear the guitar any better than we can. Yet, I record young kids in college playing glenn miller and ellington, who are almost flawless - so I know there are some kids out there who can sing - American Idle, NOT!!!

  • Your terminology betrays your of lack musical training, & your generalizing shows a lack of insight. I don't doubt the young people you record are fine musicians. But to compare 70s musicians to musicians of today is ridiculous. There were fine musicians then, there are fine musicans toay. Let's see, Herbie Hancock, George Benson, Chet Atkins, Eddie Van Halen, were all playing in the 70s. BTW, J. Taylor & J. Browne were good musician/singers back in the 70s & they're still great musicians.

  • Also Lydia - I admit, this performance is a little weak. But I've heard each of these singers perform well in the past. Regarding the musicians in the back-up band, they probably rehearsed this song once, if at all. The singers probably didn't rehearse with the band at all. They didn't nail it, but they did a presentable job. I can't help but think the monitoring system sucked, and Sheryl couldn't hear herself or the band too well.

  • Wow, I think that was the sax player from the Blues Brothers movie.

  • You are correct - Blue Lou, Lou Marini...

  • happy to see them on the same stage

  • it sounds a hundred times better on the dvd...

  • Well, THAT would have been about 10X better with David Crosby singing lead!

  • 10,000 times better.

  • Jeez, was expecting amazing things here..she's a bit flat in places..i enjoy the Dixie Chicks covering his songs..i think they do great versions of Sweet Baby James and Shower the People but this just didnt hit the mark Sheryl sorry!

  • Thanks for the vid. Good song and great performance.

  • its not a great performance at all sheryl ruined it though i liked her in the gram parsons tribute, david and jackson are just foolin around with her like gods in their own standards ....
