You can clearly see here jus how powerful Megatron has become now that he is Galvatron... Problem is that lava pit must have driven him completely insand unfortunately, which was probably fortunate for Autobots
There is something I really do not understans. Megatron and Galvatron were the same exact guy. You guys make it sound like they are two different characters like rodimus and optimus
@G1Decepticons they are two diferent people. they dont have the same body or voice. and before you say "they both think killing everything is good", ALL INSANE VILLAINS THINK LIKE THAT. and anyway, galvatron was WAY better than megatron. megs was just a glorified targetmaster
@nitrodudezoom How so? Megatron had the intelligence to go with his power, plus he was more like an Army swiss knife, (remember using the Mace on Optimus on the Hoover Dam in the first episode of the first season).
It's strange that Galvatron went powerful enough to destroy a planet. If he was this powerful, he could finish Unicron and didn't need the Chaos crystals destroy Cybertron. I guess the writers realized this and pretend this never happen.
Thrull is not a large planet like Cybertron or even Unicron, it's more like some weird kind of space-island, probably not unlike Dinobot Island - but, you know, in space.
There's about a thousand things about that show that don't make any sense. You're just supposed to watch it when you're six or appreciate the silliness when you're twenty six.
Well, I honestly like G1 Galvatron better than G1 Megatron for a few reasons:
1) Galv's alt mode is more realistic without needing to use bizarre concepts to explain his change in size.
2) Galvatron is actually more destructive. I mean, he's destroyed one traitorous underling, a planet, and some gas cloud (on Saturn, if I'm not mistaken).
3) As hinted above, Galvatron's less likely to let betrayals slide any bit. He kept his minions very well in check.
4) Galvatron's plans ended up working much better than Megatron's even though Galv's plans were still often foiled.
5) Galvatron, though very ruthless and brutal, has been rarely shown to feel concern and some form of compassion for his most loyal troops (Ex: Trypticon in "The Ultimate Weapon", Cyclonus in FFoD Part 2 when he regained some sanity). Other instances do exist if I'm not mistaken, but they haven't occured to me yet. Been a while since I've watched these episodes.
True. After 60-ish eps (S1-S2), the fact that the Decepticons (and the Autobots, really) were not any better off than when they started. This is more the fault of a lack of continuity and underlying story arc, unlike later series. So, like The Simpsons, everything's back to square 1 by next ep. S3's continuity didn't really improve, but Galvatron was more likely to cause damage.
Say what you want about recent Megatrons, but they've been decidedly evil and deadly. Esp Animated, Movie and BM.
@AeonMagnus nah, BM megatron was pathetic. though the other two were really cool. G1 galvatron was more dangerous than megatron, so imagine THE SHEER EVIL OF MOVIE AND ANIMATED GALVATRON! MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA >:D

Agreed, Galvatron was more of a threat than Megatron was regardless whether or not it was animated or comic versions, Galvatron was definitely a villain to watch out for.
If it weren't for censorship then we would've seen both Megatron and Galvatron rack up a decent body count in the series (Galvy's would probably be higher)
Contrary to Megatron, Galvatron didn't make "Retreat" his catchphrase (he said that line only a couple of times if memory serves, far fewer than Megatron nonetheless).
Temporary residual lava bath supercharge? or simple depressed? ... I also wonder how could he destroy starscream in only one clean shot and He can not do the same later woth other robots including Cyclonus when is possesed by Starscream
Basically, just keep shooting. You won't die unless the writers want you dead (or injured), at which point you're screwed, because even a single shot will do it, and you won't see it coming.
In later transformers series, although characters could still survive alot of stuff, at least they didn't usually survive anything ridicules (but exception is Waspinator in Beast Wars, but he's immortal) and it was shown that killing a transformer COULD be done.
If you look and listen closely in both this clip and the famous "coronation" clip of the G1 movie, Galvatron charges up his cannon. Usually, he's just fires burst shots at anything that he seems to just knock back or miss.
It seems that more often than not, when Galvy put an effort to a blast, it came with devastating results to its target. :O

@trence5 It did, due to lava entering the cracks of his head casing (too bad this was not shown in detail)

Indeed. Trying to actually reconcile or explain everything in G1 would drive you nuts.

In the movie it pretty much only took one shot to kill someone for no explained reason.
dragonstormx 3 years ago
And 20 or 30 to barely leave a scratch.
Basically, just keep shooting. You won't die unless the writers want you dead (or injured), at which point you're screwed, because even a single shot will do it, and you won't see it coming.

So he can blow up a planet but if he nails an Autobot all they do is get knocked back.
