  • How this place has not completely fallen to the ground yet is completely insane.

  • I know you did this a while ago now, but i just saw it - its very interesting. do you know what the deal with the place is now? I cant believe how long it has been there empty.

what were the issues people on sayville.com were saying?? And someone lived there still until 2005?? How is that? also how is everything still in there - did the owners just close, but leave everything ? Its so weird...sorry lots of questions

  • My friends family owned the place for a couple decades, her aunt and uncle lived there until recently. Most of the stuff still there, she can recall as having belonged to one of her relatives. People on Sayville.com were calling me a common thief, breaking and entering, etc. The place was condemned, the floors are weak, the walls are torn and the place is a mess, gonna be demolished some day can't see anyone putting the money in to renovating it.

  • I used to go there when I was a kid in the early 80s, it's weird seeing it abandoned like that. We still have ashtrays and match books from the place.

  • My Uncle Owen Monahan opened the Lamplighter and remodeled it he died there in 1967. My father George Seitts and my Aunt ran it from 1967 to 1978, That was the Lamps hay day a sad to see it run down. I think my Uncle must haunt it, we wer never happy with the people who took it over and ran it down.

  • Interesting, but you need to get a bigger spotlight! I wanna see more. Too bad the police hang out at Bronco Charlie's in Oakdale, I'd like to see that too.

  • I cant help but note how lucky you are. Where i come from, nothing allmost never remains that preserved for long out here. People just dont have the right exploration sense so they brake everything and carry all the metal away, just to get 1 pack of smoke.

  • Trust me there are ALOT of metal thieves here on LI too. Somehow they hadn't gotten to this place yet. And if you check out my United Artists video you'll see the kind of destruction people are capable of around here. The entire movie theater was in shambles days after it closed.

  • HOW DO U GET IN

  • Sorry, I can't help you on a way in. It is most likely sealed pretty tightly, I haven't been back in over a year but if there is a way in it would be pretty obvious, if there is no way in, please don't break anything to get in, it's not that exciting.

  • I WAS BUY IT TO DAY

  • thats pretty cool, i'v passing that place like everyday for as long as i can rember, never really got to see the inside of it, that was cool though

  • lol awesome. "we got kegs, we got kegs, we got kegs" nice vic

  • funny old sayville folk

makes me want to steal that piano...

  • LOL, yeah it was pretty nice, the BBQ grill was too.

  • Loved it man was waiting for an ax wielding maniac to jump out and chop you guys to bits, I used to do shit like that when I lived in Upstate NY years ago during my school years, lots of abandon homes and buildings, was fun to sneak around.

  • That was creepy! I used to work there!

  • Awesome, I know the people who used to own it, Don't want to drop names on YouTube though. I'm sure you knew them. I also spoke to the bartender who worked there in the late 80's a few months ago.

  • yo frank why did you get rid of 6 of your vidoes you said they where going to stay up for ever

  • Forever is a subjective term. They'll be back, and beter than ever.

  • Thats pretty sweet, i geuss the people in that town are just retards

  • lol thank you. Yeah some of them are pretty high strung.
