I have to say that while as the Jimmy eat world original is better, its only because its properly recorded. I'm willing to bet they I would pretty much pick a paramore version they took to studio over the jimmy eat world original if only because I think a girl voice does the song more justice.

I was prepared not to like this cover because Jimmy Eat World is my favorite band (and not because they became popular, but before they did) and "Hear You Me/May Angels Lead You In" is sacred to me. I also don't know who Paramore is because I stopped listening to the radio years ago. I thought she did a beautiful job.

The main reason why I don't watch things like "American Idol" because people who have no musical background are voting for who they think sounds good.. like the comments here.

This cover is ok. Hayley Williams has an incredible voice, but I don't think she was in the right state of mind when she performed this. You can clearly hear the sense of loss in the original (Jimmy Eat World) version, which you understand completely if you know the origin of the song. She seems to upbeat to be performing this, in my opinion.

But from what I know of Paramore (not that much), it seems they adore Jimmy Eat World, so whatever. But as of now, the sense of loss is just not there.
