She could be a chinook mix. theyre rare so a mix would be due to an irresponsible owner. We adopted a chinook puppy whos 16 weeks old & hes intelligent beyond his years. Before we got him we heard rumors of them being terrible dogs. But we did our research & ill admit out of the 1,000 that exist in the world today, ive met ~100 & each and every one is a fabulous dog. No breed is perfect but ive seen it to be more of an uneducated owner issue w/o proper time for a puppy that leads to a bad dog.
Can anyone tell me if my dog is Chinook? because about a year & a half ago or longer I found her on the side of the road abandoned & never knew what she was until now!
This is not a chinook. A chinook does not have that short square muzzle. I have yet to meet one with that type of coat. Either or, this is not a pure chinook
For all people planning on getting a Chinook, do your research before you get one. I have one myself, and while she is a great dog she has many health and temperamental problems. I would rule it out as a one time thing but I know of people who have the same issues with their chinooks as well. I'm not saying i have anything against them, because I love my dog, but she is more work than most.
the speckled Australian cattle dog-pit mix is stunningly beautiful, while his playmate looks like the mundane, average you'd find in any pound. that mutt should feel lucky he's playing with such a majestic canine superior being!!
Actually the Chinook dog is one of the rarest dogs in the world. a.k.a. not your regular mutt at the pound.Chinook dogs are graceful, beautiful, sled dogs that are real breeds not designer dogs, and definitely not mutts. So before you judge a dog catch up on your research about them!
@MrBuddyguy2010 sorry to correct, but the Chinook is one of the rarest dog in america right now. not to mention perfect for the average family that can afford them. from someone who works at a pound, i've seen the Australian one before. never a chinook. you should probably look these things up a bit more.
I like how they just pause then go

@MrBuddyguy2010 Luckily dogs aren't like that, and a playmate is a playmate!

The brown one is a Chinook (Or at least that's what the vid says). The blue ticked dog looks to be an Australian Cattle Dog mix of some sort.
