Firstly...CoD is on PS2, not PS3. :D

And secondly, I said it sounds SIMILAR to another Castlevania soung, as did almost all the other tracks in this game which pay homage to old Castlevania songs!

this is kinda like a remix of Cross Your Heart (Crucifix held Close is a remix lol). And it couldn't be a remix of Gaze up the Darkness because it is released a year before PoR

Actually, Dark Academy's track has been around since Haunted Castle. It's the theme for the first stage. It's called "Cross your Heart".
