  • @tulllguy Yes, he was born in Jeffersonville, Indiana then moved to Jacksonville at an early age. I believe his father was in the Navy...

  • I first was introduced to Molly Hatchet on April 14th 1979 , my 14th Birthday. Got a stereo and listened to the King Biscuit Flower Hour that night and Hatchet was playing Louisville Gardens. I went to Sears the next day and bought the album. My first concert was in 1980---30 or so shows later.......nuff said. Duane Roland was my absolute favorite. I was honored to meet him a few times. God Rest His Soul.

    Thank You for a big part of my Youth Duane.

  • Im just some schmoe who loved Molly Hatchet and saw them many many times and Duane was my absolute favorite. Had the honor of meeting him several times. God rest his soul. His music, life and talent LIVES FOREVER.

    I IDOLIZED these guys,back in the day....stuck on a farm, with nothing but music to take me away....And i chose THEM,as my vehicle........

    Such distinct sounds,and styles, they ruled the Late-70's-Early 80's!!

    Got to see them in 83'....never forget them,and i still jam their music!! Peace.......

    Very nice guy, he treated me with the utmost respect.

    Being a Molly Hatchet fan, I was very proud to have met him.

  • I met him in 1991 and got a picture with him as well. Like all of the past and present MH members Duane was a class act. He was a great guitarist and he is still very much missed. May God rest your soul, Duane.

  • I met Duane in 1984 in Hickory NC. I will always cherish the memories of the talks we had on the bus. My memories will keep him alive here in NC for sure.

    I used to be a coworker of Duane's when he worked in Orlando at an ISP.

    He was such a great guy.

  • God Bless Duane Roland. I was fortunate enough to shake his hand a few times- I grew up loving the REAL Molly Hatchet-all my buddies loved Dave-I always said the Engine was Duane. Flying V. God I miss him.
