Also I try to avoid siege battles because there is just way too big of a chance that I can lose.

What I do is I'm trying to lure enemy army out of the base. That's what I did while I was taking Lisbon. Portuguese army, with their 2500 men, attacked my 1700 men army. Never though that I would win :P

@MrAnthonyDraft Starve them out and they dont have a bonus towards theyre leader that is the best tactic if you want to beat a larger army of defenders against the attackers :D
