@Johno1919 I don't know if you still keep playing without the pinky, but i gotta tell i don't use it because i can't. I try as much as i can, but i simple can't use it. Because of that, when i have to do the higher octave of a note (idk if you understand me, 'cause as you can see my english is pretty bad), it is very difficult. Exercises don't work on me.

why does everyone complain about other bassists using a pick? I play bass and i have messed around with a pick a few times but never used one for a show, but i dont make fun of people using a pick for bass. plus jason used a pick... he was the bassist for this song.

@Coldretter personally i never use a pick...never have since i started playing, i just don't get any sort of feel for what i'm playing when i use a pick plus i enjoying slapping too much lol. but it annoys me too when other bassist tell people how they're supposed to play i.e. "don't use a pick" or "real bassists play with their fingers". playing with a pick is good, just not my style :P
