Well. For some more realistic blood the floor should need some cleaning after. What we saw was blood on the floor and a special kind of wood that keeps blood off it.
I think maybe something which would of helped was if the blood stuck to the surfaces once it's gone over it. Blood in real life doesn't wash over the top of something and not leave a stain. Just a thought, still very cool though.
Hearken back to the Stanley Kubrick/Jack Nicholson Shining a little? But nice job. One trick I've learned, though, is to crank the resolution up as high as you can without getting error messages and crashing Blender (you want to save the .blend file before doing it.). It takes longer (usually a good overnight calculation for 250 frames or so, setting Blender to 'high/realtime priority' in the task manager window. It takes longer, but the results are even better. Nice work, though.
blood are a bit more dense and with some impureces like some meat disolved on it anyway well done, (better pull up the friction to blood stay pasted to floor)
no one figures out blender in 2mins... I've been doing blender for over 12months now and I'm still only now capable of doing an "simple" animation eg simple 3D character walking. It's like anything in life worth doing, it takes work and practice and perseverance. The trick with blender is to not give up, if you can do that then you will get it.
PS: @teddygage NICE work! Maybe when you've perfected it you could right a tutorial?
Right, me too. Blender was easy for me because I saw a bunch of tutorials. And to anybody reading this, download Blender and start looking for video tutorials. I would sincerely recommend Super3Boy's tutorials, they explain everything about Blender.

the beginning isn't very realistic, as the blood shouldn't have so much tension...

you compliment the realism of the fluid simulation, then make a frownie face? Make up your mind :P

Omg it makes me sick, someone is seriously losing blood, bloody great job!
Damn, I almost puked.
Sakuukuli 4 years ago
Nice texturing. The blood should have a slightly higher viscosity than water, and it should be a somewhat "sticky". Great job.

not too long, less than 10 hours. I do have a quad core cpu with Opteron chips though

that must have taken ages to render

awesome the blood could be a little darker though and the lighting could have been changed so it doesnt reflect off the blood

Nice vid! The only thing missing are wetmaps. And maybe some more friction between the liquid and the floor.
Jeggis89 5 years ago
realistic is another think...but anyway, i like tests...
cg fluids are really a challenge, but there arent much tools on the market, companys keep this stuff inhouse...
electrofraggle 5 years ago
not anymore. blender's fluid sim is easy, and blender 2.43 is about to be released

@teddygage I have 2.49. When's 2.5 gonna be released? Will the tutorial book still be useful?

Very well done. The blood should stick to the floor a bit more, It kinda looks like red mercury.

I can't pay enough attention to tutorials. My only complaint is that Blender is far more complicated than need be.
ThatguycalledJoe 3 years ago
@ ThatguycalledJoe
It's 3D, it's supposed to be complicated.
Practice makes perfect, and in this case, a LOT of practice.
3D animation requires patience, and if you DON'T have that, you shouldn't really be doing 3d animation.
Lee6720s 2 years ago
Well I don't have that patience, and I don't do 3D, so I guess it all works out.
