  • I tune my Telecaster and it is tuned all night......what a guitar. Her name was Wenus and Wenes was her name. I love Wilko.....he knows how good he was. Miss you Wilko

  • what is the name of the singer? is he from sweden? if he is. i fucking met him yesterday. he told me that he was from this band and it sure looks like him..

  • @Saii158

I very much doubt you met the singer (Lee Brilleaux) recently as he has been dead for over a decade!

    RIP Lee

  • @Saii158 Lee Brilleaux. He died in 1994. I

  • I love Telecasters.....They scream purity. I love this

  • awesome, how did i never hear this band before now??

  • I inherited my mom's "Malpractice" Lp from '75. kickass rocknroll.

  • hi ,superrat here ,whether you call them rock and roll or rythym and blues ,i think it is fair to say that dr.feelgood really played GOOD MUSIC that both genres could enjoy ,i remember this band ,and listening to them in the 70's everytime we went on a road trip ,they would be the first one in the 8 track player !!!

  • Wilco inspired me to buy a Tele. =)

  • <3

  • <3

  • They were Rhythm and Blues people, not rock&roll

  • The Feelgoods kicked so much ass. They were the definition of real rock n' roll.

  • ah yes, a fender tele pounded into submission-what's not to like?

  • my dad saw them live twise back in the day.. just remember a dr.feelgood sticker on his dj gear from my childhood. First i heard them play was on the oil city confidential documentary/movie and i was SOLD!

  • They do it right

  • Wilkooooooooooooooooooo !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • docs were caught in the moment of perfection here. In this version the song is the best r n r song ever. Besides, lyrics are very functional, and it was appearent a graduated linguist had made it. I feel for Lee, his image had been bigger than his life, pitty.

  • Original, pure, perfect!

  • wilco skittling :D

  • This proves that the most popular are not necessarily the best!! The Docs really rocked!!!

  • I love the movement of dancers,,Great the Doctor..

  • jimi hedrix is litle child in opposition to Wilco

  • @supermarkomarko whoa!!!..l fucking love wilco but he aint in the same league as jimi.

  • @eddietwang have you ever heard to earl hooker?Jimi took his style, but Wilko has own style.

  • @eddietwang Wilko could never play like Jimi and Jimi could never play like Wilko. Two totally different entities but both so totally awesome!

  • @JustTheGman ..too right!..

  • @eddietwang :-D

I saw the Feelgoods at a free gig in Nottingham about 9 months before Lee died. Loudest banned I ever saw/heard. Ears buzzed for about three days after. Obviously Wilko was not with them BUT I am hoping to see him in Nottingham early October.

An ex-Feelgood AND an ex-Blockhead. Could it get any better?

  • @JustTheGman .no it could not!!!

  • I went to see wilko live one time. I managed to sneak back stage after the gig by saying the drummer was my uncle. I went back stage and hung out with wilko and...I PLAYED THAT GUITAR! Hes a really nice guy :)

  • The Hives definitely take a lot of influence from these!

  • Pub rock was a revolution that came from Australia

  • this rhythm guitar technique is absoeloootely sick!!!

  • 彼らがいなければ、ミッシェルもいなかった。

  • Espectacular!R.i.p. Lee Brilleaux y desde donde estes segui iluminandonos.

  • yeah, this is the real rock, without special effects, only rock&roll

  • @fornost100 technically this is real R'n'B without the whiny disco shite

  • Wilko is playing, thats all i need.

  • Kids back then did not have much money, but they knew how to have a good time Happy Days

  • A great rock 'n' roll/ r'n' b band, people dancing, good vibes everywhere. Great times!

  • Us and Them...it's all Good, Pass the ribs please.

  • Check out Wilko and Norman Watt Roy.

  • Stunning. This band just sizzled. So dialed in. And Wilko is a phenomenal player. To keep up that beautifully choppy pulse while also picking leads - and doing it with the backs of your nails..... What an incredibly tight band they were. Many thanks for posting this. A+

  • @scottcampbell1958 I love Wilko. Remember, you forgot to add:

    Beautifully choppy pulse

    Picking leads

AND the best stage presence movements of ALL time. :)

  • They had real music back then---the corporate pop-stuff today totally sucks. Thank God for Youtube, or there'd be nothing to listen to!

  • 10 people haven't sense of ryhtmh

  • as far as im concerned there are only two nations in this maggot infested world who can make good music..us and america.

  • @eddietwang A lack of capital letters suggests that "us and america" are the same country!

  • @MartiW ...you are a pedantic twat marti...this is r and b..not university challenge

  • @eddietwang So learn to use your keyboard right, you're among adults now.

  • @MartiW ..marti,marti marti..l have played in r and b bands for years and l know you... you are the sad geeky bloke wearing glasses, stood at the back of the bar on his own, wearing a loud t shirt drinking a half pint of pop (that lasts all night) trying to be part of a scene.sadly you are always "looking in from the outside".but l have warmed to you and l am going to immortilise you in a track on an album l am currently working on.the working title of your track is "farty marty, party smarty".

  • @eddietwang I'm sure I stood at the back of one of your gigs thinking, "will this wedding never end?"

  • @MartiW ..marti marti smarty farty sounds a lot like party clarti, went to bed with russell harty early in the morning!

I take it this is from the Feelgoods 'Geordie Scene' set ?

  • If you can get to Bath, UK on 16 November, the Bath Film Festival are screening OIL CITY CONFIDENTIAL, Julien Temple's terrific documentary about Dr Feelgood, followed by a live performance by The Wilko Johnson Band. Happening at Komedia in Bath. Unmissable!

  • @vinylosaur - I had sky-plussed this from BBC 4 a while back and watched it not so long ago. Just got me thinking that the Feelgoods would have been a major band now. I absolutely love this song: Lee looks hot (RIP Lee xxxx) and Wilko looks.......his fantastic manic self lol!!! Absolutely fantastic stuff.

Hope you all had a great night in Bath!

  • Lol - noobs in the crown who turn up for TOTP and get wilco on full song - WTF!!!!

  • It is flamenco on a Telecaster!! - genius

  • Well, I say the English are the most musically adept civilization. Every time an English citizen touches a musical instrument, it sounds amazing. Don't ask me how or why, but that's how it is. It's beautiful.

  • This is a truly awesome record and one I play on my DJ set even now along with Roxette and Milk & Alcohol of course. Long live Lee and the boys!!

  • this video would be misleading as shit if it were on mute and only showed the audience. these guys are playing the fuck out of everything that ever happened on earth and the audience looks like they're fucking dancing around to slightly syncopated gregorian chants...

    Wilko is just awesome!!

Just bought a t shirt, FAB ROCKIN BRILLIANT.

  • heard em in mid 70's then forgot about them until early 80's when i saw a band called blues n trouble in edinburgh. they were fantastic and went out of my way to see them a few more times. when i listen to this the influence of feelgood on blues n trouble is now so apparent. now have all of b n t and feelgood stuff i could get my hands on. both are class acts, proper r n b. feelgood were way ahead of their time, wilko is just a legend!
