hi ,superrat here ,whether you call them rock and roll or rythym and blues ,i think it is fair to say that dr.feelgood really played GOOD MUSIC that both genres could enjoy ,i remember this band ,and listening to them in the 70's everytime we went on a road trip ,they would be the first one in the 8 track player !!!
my dad saw them live twise back in the day.. just remember a dr.feelgood sticker on his dj gear from my childhood. First i heard them play was on the oil city confidential documentary/movie and i was SOLD!
docs were caught in the moment of perfection here. In this version the song is the best r n r song ever. Besides, lyrics are very functional, and it was appearent a graduated linguist had made it. I feel for Lee, his image had been bigger than his life, pitty.
I saw the Feelgoods at a free gig in Nottingham about 9 months before Lee died. Loudest banned I ever saw/heard. Ears buzzed for about three days after. Obviously Wilko was not with them BUT I am hoping to see him in Nottingham early October.
An ex-Feelgood AND an ex-Blockhead. Could it get any better?
I went to see wilko live one time. I managed to sneak back stage after the gig by saying the drummer was my uncle. I went back stage and hung out with wilko and...I PLAYED THAT GUITAR! Hes a really nice guy :)

@MartiW ..marti,marti marti..l have played in r and b bands for years and l know you... you are the sad geeky bloke wearing glasses, stood at the back of the bar on his own, wearing a loud t shirt drinking a half pint of pop (that lasts all night) trying to be part of a scene.sadly you are always "looking in from the outside".but l have warmed to you and l am going to immortilise you in a track on an album l am currently working on.the working title of your track is "farty marty, party smarty".
