I've lived in both. If you don't care about high crime, having party animals as neighbors, or socially deprived rats who can't take care of their home, then more power to you. And don't plan on ever selling your house. Buyers know a dumpy area when they see one and they're starting to realize that "transitional" communities are just bad ares that can't be cleaned up.
